Would work if it was some sort of nuclear-isomer based weapon. Only issue is manufacturing the ammunition and how to balance something with an output yield per gram is equivalent to that of a cruise missile.

...Then why bother trying to cut through buildings using magic? Just have Kyle burn through them. It's going to take quite a long time, but won't use MP.

Alternatively, just technomance it to be usable against Araceli. She won't be able to dodge it if she doesn't notice Kyle.

You know, you people could just use technomancy to magically modify Kyle's laser rifle so that it just fires gamma radiation in a way that it doesn't burn anything but instead causes damage via radiation poisoning and have him sweep in around, ignoring walls whilst he keeps behind cover and remains hidden.

...a beam of radiation focused enough to serve as a weapon doesn't just fizzle out after a few hundred meters, nor is the city surrounded by a lead sheet. For that matter, anything it passes through or touches will be irradiated for a while, too.

Very roundabout way of trying to fight, and very risky one.

Doesn't the field around the area destroy creation projectiles? If it doesn't apply to them exiting, then the beam shall have to be spread out as so that the danger-distance is close enough as to minimize collateral damage or be used as a single focused burst straight at Araceli's position. If it doesn't apply to EMR at all, then the party can laser the place from outside the field.

Gave the 'strength for guns' thing a lookover, and I'm going to put my conclusion up to vote:

Strength needs to be split up into two stats: Strength, for melee attacks, and Dexterity, for non-magical ranged attacks. Extant characters can move their stats in Strength over to Dexterity, should they use guns instead.

Skill is renamed as Dexterity.
Strength is renamed as Skill.
Mundane crafting is handled through an ER-style tinker system that rewards research far more than arbitrary numbers.

Yay or nay?

Also, dexterity!=speed. That's like saying strength is endurance.

I disagree. It unnecessarily complicates it. A rename to reflect that it's the capability to hit major organs and whatnot be it with gun or blade, perhaps.

The only changes I would like to see are thus:
Skill is renamed as Dexterity.
Strength is renamed as Skill.
Mundane crafting is handled through an ER-style tinker system that rewards research far more than arbitrary numbers.
