Let me put it this way:
Level: 4
EXP: 70/100
Stats: /114
Health: 15 [60]
Mana: 14 [42]
Speed: 20
Skill: 20
Strength: 25
Magic: 17
Defence: 10
Resistance: 10
Perks:
Inhuman Power[STR]- Seras deals 20% more damage with melee attacks.
Abilities:
None yet exist for her.
That is seras as a human. She has 1 perk, which she started with and has no abilities other than being in the hero class. That means that
me trying to use her vampire race to justify her is not just true, but a point I am trying to make. Our current system tries to lop
All characters into the "I am not an average human" category instead of actually diversifiying race into distinct categories.
Seras is a vampire and is more agile than a human. However, she takes damage in sunlight and can be dealt increased damage by magicla means, silver, and blessed items. She is weakened by garlic and holy water.
here's the catch: She isn't just a vampire, but a True Vampire sired by dracula, a psuedo immortal (he thinks immortal is a fake term anyways). She lacks the weakness to the sun, holy water is now considered a blessed weapon and deals damage, Garlic doesn't bother her and she takes a better increased damage than a normal vampire. She has a natural healing process due to her body being composed of Shadow Essence, which is considered the matter that makes up her soul and the souls she absorbs. Oh, and she can't increase her Hp or Mp unless she absorbs a soul, but her unnatural body isn't as powerful as Dracula's is and can only intake a soul once at each level up or practically a year ingame. So yeah, the phrase of her being a joke character isn't half way from the true, but I am being very serious with how she is set up.
Tl:dr
She isn't a human so stop treating her as such.
Also, we don't need a map to say "I move my character out of melee range." You just need to say it during your turn, and the GM generally notes it down.
And yes I do understand that perks are meant to be "advantages." However, here is the thing about the system we use: Perks are gained at level up and are typically a boon to the character. A player can start with a perk, but has to take a flaw as well. That means that
any boons a character might have have to be gained from level up. That means a perk every 5 levels. Perks are meant to differentiate characters, but it doesn't. All it does is serve to make players be more active in plots, which to be frank isn't working and just about no one cares for leveling up. We have already lazed back into our strength in numbers bullshit mentality we had from the V2 thread.
Our characters are the same character with a different name. Were's the diversity? We have Dalia who can debuff an enemy. We also have Sen, and Ashley, and Kaiser, and Kyle, and Walpurga. We have Icarus who is great at dealing damage. We also have Kaiser, We have Kyle, we have Linda, we have Fredericka. We have Ashley who can use the void to teleport and deal massive damage. We have Alucard, we have Bartimaeus, we have Sen (by technicality due to being part demon and her magic being part void). Do you see what I'm getting at? The only thing different about the characters is the background for the characters and their names. We have 19 active characters and we could further reduce that to 6 people if we removed all duplicates of the first six. Amazing how that happened yes? Instead of having 19 unique characters we have 6 unique characters and 13 copycat characters. If you ask me, We need to revamp the character sheet as well as the level up system and magic system.
Anyways, Until the system gets revamped I am putting a hold on Seras.
