geez, whatever happened to the good old escape tactic that bosses of large organisations can always call upon without feeling cheesy - BACKUP.
it wouldn't have been difficult at all, the enemy army is nearby, and they have demonstrated the capacity to teleport large military equipment around. The moment Osmodeus thought that this might not turn to his favour, he could have called for tons and tons of backup to cover his retreat and evacuate his allies, and the retreat would have maybe lasted 2-3 turns with our characters trying to do something about it, and ultimately failing because of low mana and lack of actual crowd controle.
Instead, the entire Osmodeus fight started from the getgo as a a festival of making up stuff on the fly. First the override code, which I seriously doubt has been mentioned to PN, or Smurf or even Elf in the last thread when Osmodeus and his machines were relevant. Nobody has a contingency plan for everything. Then the moment that does not work, boom, mind-controle suddenly also affects machines because "it is not standard mind-controle". And now boom, he literaly pulls a "get out of jail free" card out of his pocket and nobody can even try to do something about it.
Yes I get he is plot-central, but this is just bad form, and very unsatisfying to play. Similarly with PNs characters doing all the heavy lifting, yes, yes, I get that this is the Alucard plot and that he will play a central role, and towards the end of the plot probably will do all sorts of cool and dramatic stuff with cutscenes and whatnot.
But seriously, *even if this is how the dice fall*, does it have to be exclusively the GMs characters who matter at all during combat, while everyone else misses non-stop or bounces off harmlessly? That is also unsatisfying to the players. The entire battle, starting from the tanks, was a long cutscene, and the outcome never in question even once. Plot-central yes or no, every plot needs at least a bit of room for improvisation and interaction.
