True, but for someone like Kyle or Icarus it might prove useful if you have a really fast enemy. Switch different blades to better suit who you're fighting - orichalum for gods, mythril for fast enemies, adamantine for armored enemies, etc.
Or you can be a normal person and not use futuristic swords that use magic alloys.
