Aye, just me. Though, Smurf, I think you forgot the damage reduction Kaotaro's armor gives her. Not much, to be sure, and she still took the most damage of the group, basically, but it could easily make a difference.

Nope, it reads a +2 Defence right? Barrage is a magical ability.

Not her equipment. Her ability. Engage Combat Mode. It gives her +2 DR. The defense boost is just from the nanotech stuff being laced through and reinforcing her physical body.

She also used Engage Hyper-Metabolic Drive and Engage Targeting HUD this previous turn, in case it hadn't been clear. She also sorta used Engage Thruster Jets, but since she wasn't using them to fly or gain the speed boost, that was more fluff, for the moment.

Also mostly finished her Small abilities, finally. Continuing to work, doo-doo-doo~

I am still lowering numbers on Bakteiral.

So far I have her infection rating increasing by 2.5 each level up which gives her a max level of 40. If I was to upgrade her at her current numbers she would have an effective level of about 66-67.

If I lower her rate increase to 1.25% each level up (and lower her current rating by .25) then she would reach max level at 80. This would allow me to completely restructure her level up guide to make her more party friendly and less effective level and more actual level.

Any suggestions?

Make that just Nazi-chan and Titus, then. I'd recommend the latter, the bonus being that Alison will have time to get 'rooted' in the team, so we don't instantly try to set her on fire the moment she loses control.

Nazi-chan comes with a caveat, though: any munchkin-style asspullery with her telekinesis will be rewarded with suddenly Israelis.

So far I have this as a guide:

At 5%, the disease modifies the internal blood system of the host so that it no longer needs blood to survive.

At 10%, it restructures the organ layout to be more efficient, cutting down waste and increasing nutrients gained from food.

At 15%, it restructures the nervous system to allow a higher pain tolerance.

At 20%, the disease begins to modify the retinal and brain stem to allow quicker reactions.

At 25%, the disease begins to modify limbs to be better suited at combat and evasion.

At 30%, the disease reconstructs skin tissue to be harder and more chitinous.

At 40%, the disease modifies the arms and legs to be more insect like, adding blades, talons, spikes, and claws for combat use.

At 60%, the disease modifies the bone structure to allow greater strength and harder attacks.

At 80%, the disease removes the need for organs and replaces the empty space with a chemical vat for creating a mutagenic healing agent to keep it alive longer. The body no longer requires food to maintain itself.

At 90%, the Disease reaches maturity and is at it's peak form. It becomes a deadly hunter and begins seeking a new host.

At 100% infection, the disease leaves its host and transplants itself into a new host. The old host has become a chitinous skeleton and is no longer alive or functioning

Since she will be leveling up more slowely I am going to change the percent at which she evolves to be more robust.

Every 10 levels (or 12.5%) A major upgrade is rolled from a list and a 1d20 is used. these can be major attacks, upgraded body functions, or functional perks (list is being remade)
Every time (minus major upgrades) Infection rating goes up, a minor upgrade is rolled. These can be new attacks, 1 or 2 addition stat points, or a small or negative perk. (list is being made.)
When 98.75 is hit, Bakterial must find a new host before level up. If one is not found by level up, she must piggyback an ally until a host is found. The body dies at 100% and Level and infection rating resets for next host.

How does it look? I will get the list of upgrades (for everyone to see because it may lead to interesting plot ideas) posted when they are finished.

Looks okay, but she'll be screwed over as a character once she needs a new host.

Note that the guide is still unfinished. Some upgrades will only be allowed after a certain level and some only before a certain level.

Also, Bakterial still will not gain any stat points due to normal level up. She has to roll them at level up. This is to prevent her from becoming OP due to her possible perks and upgrades.

@Smurf, I thought of that. I was thinking of having the new host be at a marginal level of players to compensate for it. Example: If the group consists of mainly level 7's and a few level 5's, Bakteiral's new host would be level 6.

I'm pretty sure levels will be higher than that by that time, but it'll work.

I also feel the need to scatter little pieces of XP here and there, as an additional incentive to finding artifacts, exploring places, finding easter eggs, or beating the shit out of pirates/slavers and playing hero.
