I pretty much own Hermetic Magic In-universe,
So what you're saying is, you're the magical-circle equivalent of Microsoft? :P

As in, people can get a license to use your circles but you still own all the rights to it.

Will there be a Magicirc Office Summon 2014?

Cute way to put it. Basically I made most of the lore and how it generally functions.

Also knowing Midorikawa and the general state of the world, there just might be.

Hell, there might be an app.

For what? Generating usable magic circles on a phone? Or just something like the Hermetic equivalent of Wolfram Alpha?

Wolfram Alpha is god.

it would a) be an interesting character challenge to make someone who firmly believes in nazi ideology to still be somewhat likeable, and b) an incredible difficult backstory to asspull where the fucking hell this character would come from in any non super cringe worthy sense
Bartimaeus's best only friend.

Also, I won't be on much. The school I'm going to is really good, and I have more work to do and shit. Expect me 2-3 hours a day on weekdays and almost all day on weekends.

I won't be on much next week, as I will be going to Germany to take a language course. If there's Internet there that I can use, I'll try to get on, but it looks as though I'll be on a blackout for next week, starting Sunday.

Remember, Akroma, not all characters need to be likable to be characters, nor are all characters entirely defined by their ideology.

Purity from Worm was a racist, yet more or less a sympathetic character for the other parts of her personality. Being one doesn't define you, not if you don't let it. Doesn't mean you aren't a dick for it, though.

Well, given that blood is hell to get out of a phone, likely more of a Wolfram Alpha thing at least for anything above the kind of thing that can be powered by the normal sort of lithium battery a phone uses.

Gives you all the designs, options, how to put them together, what each one does/requires, etc.

Who should I play? Also were there relevant calamities I might want to know about? :P

Play a new character! Or not. I'm not the boss of you.

Also, no calamities to talk about. Besides the Sultanates of Void being unleashed to try and kill us all. But they aren't doing it openly... yet. So everything is continuing as normal.

Woot. You could always play as Asuna if you feel like causing outrageous amounts of drama.

Are they shipping-related amounts of drama? I was mostly thinking of having her on the Moon. Busy place nowadays, apparently.

also Usec likes the idea which means I can make him do some of the work

Name: Midorikawa Seira/Alicia Greymarke

Age: 17

Description: Seira is a quiet girl, reserved, and generally keeps to herself, not bringing up her connections to the family... at all, really. All in all, she acts like an agent, keeping very low-profile, under the radar unless absolutely necessary, and tries to keep her normal facade in place even when she does have to resort to overt measures.

Stats: /100
Health: 12
Mana: 20
Speed: 12
Skill: 12
Strength: 10
Magic: 12
Defence: 10
Resistance: 14

Equipment: Generally just walks around in normal street clothes with a backpack. In the backpack are the following items...

All electronics capable of connecting to the internet have an embedded mobile network router that can connect to any wireless net the world over, as well as a low-power magical uplink to allow connection to the home network if needed.
1x iPad 5 loaded with Midorikawa proprietary Hermetic Magic Database Software, as well as several other useful tools, both magical and mundane.
1x CyberPower FangBook X7-200 Laptop, loaded with imaging and design software and enough computing power to chew through even the heaviest calculations. Also has a small projector attachment to allow for the projection of magical circles, though these do not function for containment or warding purposes in most cases.
1x portable dot matrix printer for filling out magical circles.

Ability: Hermetic Magic, the use of magical circles and symbols to affect magical effects. Much easier to use with practice than normal 'spontaneous' magic, and uses less power (effectively treating everything as 1 to 2 CS lower than it actually is?), but every spell must be researched and prepared ahead of time, though these spells can be repeated. Essentially, the user must pass a Skill check every time they want to learn a new spell, and must manually learn spells in order to use them.

Examples:

Negligible: lock/unlock a door

Small: magically seal a door so that it can't be opened (more than just closing the lock)

Medium: trap a spiritual being inside of the circle, preventing them from exiting it, or create a warding circle in order to keep spiritual creatures out.

Big: Stronger containment/warding circles, emulate simple magic effects from other schools at original power level or more complex magic effects at reduced power.

Enormous: Very powerful containment/warding circles, emulate more complex magic effects from other schools at original power level or incredibly powerful magic at reduced power level.

Gigantic: God-level containment/warding circles, emulate any effect from any other school at original power level.

New character.

21st century hermetic magic~

By the Moon being a busy Twi means that we have/will have: The first Lunar colony, Asuna and the other Selenites, a Youkai hideaway, and bonde human aliens. Also Space Nazis if Akroma decides to go that way. In other words, we could have a bunch of secondary characters on the Moon and get a little side plot going.
