A character doesn't have to be liked to be a good character. Nobody's really supposed to like Spensir. Dude's kindof a douchebag, most of the time. Nobody fucking likes Bartimaeus. Dude's a dick, all of the time.

Offing a character out of the blue, for no reason other than 'nobody likes him' is either a form of whining about people having their own opinions about your character(why not have him, y'know, act differently, if you want people to like him?), a cry for attention, or simply not wanting to have to deal with having your character questioned for legitimate reasons(even I though the torture thing was creepy, and I can make some fuckin' dark backstories).

Plus, it seems like you're making light of suicide, which pisses one part of me off. That part is small and more prone to cowering in a corner and worrying than ranting, but still. That has...personal connections. Maybe not as personal as some, as my life has a severe lack of tragedy in it, but nonetheless I would appreciate you not using suicide and/or suicide threats from the character just to try and get your/their way like this.
