Unless they have humans working for them, a comprehensive knowledge of how to hack, or a very long time learning from trial and error there should be no way for them to be abnormal.

Not to mention that the AI in question actually has to allow some sort of access. You NEED some way to get into the system in the first place, not that easy if the system, in this case, the AI, shouldn't really need any sort of outside commands to be entered. Unless magic was used, which would make it more a case of mind-control; or REI just performs commands sent through some sort of external connection and that happened to have commands that would make it perform these actions (in which case, chances are, the password was either really shitty, or someone managed to guess it).
