Main game:
http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=138012.msg5205249#msg5205249A RtD of epic proportions....
Since all of the players of that game have decided to pretty much evolve to super-forms I decided to make this as a means of a Morality Chain/Karmic Retribution. This will play similarly to a Roll to Dodge with a few major differences:
- There will be no rolling. All decisions will be made by me.
- Things that occur in the Roll to Dodge impact this game
- Not all actions require my approval (I'm living this grey for now, but if it starts getting out of hand...
- Roleplay is more the focus here.
So, a few basic rules:
- Permadeath: Once a character dies, they're dead for good. No coming back as a ghost, no resurrections. There's a reason this is called "Heavy Drama Edition"
- You must all play as regular, non-superpowered humans.
- You must make a character sheet and then adhere to it. If you say that your character is female, aged 21, you can't come back later and say that your character is a male trap whose really 700.
- Realism is rewarded, good roleplaying is rewarded. I want to make this like a dramatic television show without the production values.
- Crime will be punished according to a justified scale based on actual legal concept and reasonable sentencing.
- Time scale is only 1/2 reality. If your character is sentenced to 3 years in prison, they'll be in there for 1 and 1/2 real years. This may seem ridicuolous, but hey, try not to break any laws, right?
- For RP'ing fun and because of the previous rule, you may have more than one character. Currently there is no character limit, and I don't foresee there being one.
- You can befriend the characters in/from the RtD, but you cannot enlist their aid without my approval.
Because this is part punishment, all of you in the RtD are required to play for at least a week. ( Here defined as you participated in this thread at least once for a day, and a total of seven (non-consecutive) days in which you have participated. ) However, I want this to be a "funishment", I hope it is and will still be a fun game. This is what you guys get instead of being smited in the RtD on account of Tune time travelling. Be wary of what you do in both as they will counter-affect one another. However, due to the heavier nature of this game I might filter out some of the more world destroying things with some sort of plot-contrivance.
Another thing, people who
don't participate in the Roll to Dodge can still participate here, but you're advised to pay attention to or actively participate in, so that you won't be blind-sided by happenings from the RtD.

For now, since I don't have maps drawn of Microphonia, just list the following:
- Size ( Preferably in square feet, but square meters are fine too. )
- Location ( Just list established locations and your relative distance from them. I'll figure it out when I draw the map.
- Price Range. ( What you figure your character can reasonably spend on living quarters.
- How much you will pay a month in rent or mortgage payments.
Cheesistan has no property tax, so don't worry about that. I do want this game to be much less abstract, but not as detailed as Dwarf Fortress. Everyone knows what happened to the DF economy.
Here we honor the memory of the dearly departed. Requiescat in pace
-EMPTY!-
If you play multiple characters, you'll need a sheet for each. I would appreciate it if you add your characters to the Wiki, which you can find here:
http://Cheesistan.wikia.com/ In fact, I might make it a requirement if keeping up with the characters becomes a hassle. And if you do make a Wiki page, copy-paste your character sheet in.
For the artistically inclined, we
do accept and encourage fan-art. However, by posting fan-art in this thread you agree that I may also post it into the Wiki. ( I promise that I will not use your fan-art for any other purpose than the Wiki or a computer desktop background, I'm not out to rip anybody off. )
So, let's pop the cork on this thing and get the monstrosity started! ( I'll post my character sheets as soon as I notice that people from the RtD are actually showing up. )
