!!WARNING!!
A NEW CHALLENGER IS APPROACHING

Aria of Sorrow, Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance for the GBA.

Dawn of Sorrow, Order of Ecclesia, Portrait of Ruin for the DS.

For the uninitiated, that's all Castlevania.

Part 9 is up!
This is simply the actual fighting I described at the end of the summary of the last part.

---

EDIT: Also linked the playlist in the OP. I've also been linking the individual parts in there since we started.

Linked short the playlists of 10± part playthroughs of X-COM UFO/TftD.

Oh man, Circle of the Moon was the only Castlevania game I had as a kid and I fucking loved it. I even have a map of the castle I had my mom print out and help me put together. It's like a small poster.
I'll be watching that!

Then this one's for you JackBread!

Circle of the Moon Part 2

This is WAY more exciting than Tactics Ogre.

No I remember playing this game all the time when I was a kid. It's blowing my mind all the new stuff I've seen, since I never got past the wolf guy.

Definitely kinda' wish you were doing the other TO, heh. I've actually started poking at the PSP version again, and just noticed to my intense geekish joy that it actually has direct callbacks to the original Ogre Battle -- Lanselot (Lans) being from Valna in Charlom (Sharom), Canopus being from what's probably Parcival (Peshaval, in the PSP translation)... you can actually go back and trace them to specific cities in the old game, which is just absolutely awesome continuity shenanigans.

Plus it plays a lot better and is much prettier and just waagh. Castlevania is nice, too, though. They make for some amusing speedruns.

Circle of the Moon Part 1 is a vampire! D:

We're Nathan Hughes and a whip! Dracula is evil! Vampire hunters! There's the castle! GO!

I can really tell your not used to playing the game, given that you get hit by everything!

The series definitely took a while to find its way.

While LUCT isn't flawless, It was definitely well streamlined and simply needed more refinement. Also LUCT is a remake believe it or not, and quite an overhauling one too.

I actually prefer LUCT to Final Fantasy Tactics by far (the fact that all the classes in LUCT, even the useless seeming ones, eventually become worthwhile is a plus... quite a few classes are near useless until you get a few combinations of skills such as the Sword Master) and it is a shame that we are likely never going to get another Tactics Ogre game... Since honestly I felt like it needed one sequel to be perfect (Fix the monsters, diversify the classes, FIX THE CRAFTING, balance the post-game, Not rely on being psychic to get certain characters, increase magic damage, make healers worthwhile somehow)

---

This Tactics Ogre though... Isn't that bad.

It is just slooooooooow. I'd play it except for the sliiiight issue of.. well.. there are spoilers but there is a single aspect of the game that makes this game unplayable for me.

Tell me about it! I don't think I've ever seen a depiction of fairies in fiction that I was satisfied with..

Except for maybe Guardian's Crusade.. *tries not to cry*

FAKEEDIT: *rewatches intro*
*cries anyways*

...

Okay maybe not actually, but that game still hits me in the feels whenever I watch Nehani sacrifice herself to-

She was an extremely useful companion who doesn't technically have any stats or counts as a party character, but would occasionally heal you when you really needed it. The first time it happens it blows your mind. But really she doesn't do anything aside from that, and the part at the end where she dies.

Circle of the Moon Part 5

I think this is the one where I kill the necromancer. I recorded this yesterday so I've got no idea.
