SNES games are too hard to play without a controller, even if Ogre is fact turn-based. :p

Tactics Ogre it is!

First come first serve for the questions, eh... well, alright.

I wish to submit that we name this man Jill. Date of birth: March 20th, the day of the spring equinox.

Just so we can avoid wasting a few days voting on each one individually. The name is the only important thing anyways.

No, no, it's good, it's good. I was just gonna' offer up a list that made the poor guy a gigolo anyway.

Though the questions are kinda' important, at least early in the game*. Even beyond, in the case of the stat changes and alignment decisions involved. Not that it's likely we could cooperate to min-max them to any meaningful degree, so... name, yes.

No I'm aware that the beginning choices affect something in-game, but it doesn't matter from the audience's standpoint unless they've delved a wiki, probably.

Part 1 is up! Yay! :-D
Mostly an intro and prologue. I made a compromise on the name and called him Jil-Giles. I also screwed up the birth date, and I accidentally picked Sadness instead of Mercy. Whoops! :p

I'm playing this blind, so don't spoil anything for me T. Ogre veterans!:
Using most of my old FFT tactics won't work it appears! Rather than always choosing your facing at the end of your character's turn, it's instead determined by the direction you attack, unless you choose to Standby. I read all of Pumpkinhead's tutorial in my test run, and judging by that it seems there's opportunity for some different races. Another difference from FFT, which had a range of classes but an all human cast of characters, aside from wild creatures that you tamed or bred. My money's on valkyries as party members at some point, and judging by that discussion with Eleanor probably a mermaid, if not as a playable character then at least as an NPC. The OST is a bit lackluster IMO, and that's probably the worst death noise I've ever heard. It's also puzzling to me that corpses aren't left behind, and that killed characters apparently vanish into thin air. :p

I have Part 2 finished where I complete the second battle but I'm not uploading it just yet.

Do you guys want to see shopping and unit organisation in future parts?

... sure? Or maybe a post-summary of some sort. I, uh. Can't actually watch the videos, yet, but yeah, the organizational bits can be interesting (to me, anyway).

Man, this is one of the few games I actually bothered finishing. It's so kickass! Have fun playing!

Also, why are the PSP or SNES versions better?

The short answer would be "more" -- more characters/classes/etc., more battles, more/better plot, more polish (especially the later remakes), better graphics, just... everything, really. It's... kinda' the difference between a handheld and a console game in regards to general production trends, in terms of scope, execution, etc. Knights of Lodis is considerably more contained -- shorter, less epic, smaller roster, and so on. Not to say it's bad, it's just that the original is, well. Better. And the PSP version in particular does a lot to smooth out interface and mechanics and whatnot, as well as provide a new translation. Would definitely recommend.

Well I did say I'd be hosting this on YouTube.  x.x
And I thought my blurb for part 1 was satisfactory, even though I didn't really talk about what happened in the game.. :c

Part 2 is ready, but I want to wait until I can review it and scribble a halfway decent summary. I think I will make a dedicated part for organization (even though there wasn't a single vote on the poll for it), so it's still totally skippable for those who don't care. I'd just use screenshots but the reason I do videos so I don't have to do that. :3

Part 2 is up!
I haven't been paying much attention to the story, but apparently we're heading into town in search of.. Something..

We run into a spellcaster leading a party from Rannanculus, which I'm not sure why that is significant. I think it's because they're from the north and they don't belong in the port town. We're outnumbered at the start, but we're shortly joined by our not so long lost friend Rictor the knight commander! Anyways, longest fight ever because my NPC allies are dumbtarded and keep running away from the bad guys. I want to wipe everyone out and max my XP gains but waiting for my turn is just too boring! I manage to score the finishing blow on the leader and we end up leaving an archer alive, but no matter. No casualties on our side, and we get a shitload of gil to fund our campaign! Time to hire some dudes in preparation for the attack on the duke's palace!! Wait.. What?!
