Hi all!

I just tried the Genesis reborn mod, and I find it entertaining, but there seems to be a problem with barrels I don't remember having before. Empty barrels arent collected by dwarves and often the game will throw up brewing cancellations for lack of empty food containing items. Meanwhile there are about 30 (not forbidden) empty barrels waiting at the trade depot that my dwarves will not collect. I have a stockpile dedicated to barrels and bins but it's empty and none will bring anything to it.

Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

I've only used genesis for adventure mode, so my advice might not be helpful. If you used the barrels to trade recently and traders are still at the depot, the barrels may still be tasked for trading. Going to the (g) menu in the depot and removing them from the trading list would free them up. If that's not the case, then check your hauling preferences in the (o)rders menu. You might have it set that dwarves don't haul furniture (barrels are furniture, aren't they?). This shouldn't prevent your brewer from getting the barrels, though. Only other thing I can think of is that if your fort is very spread out, the barrels might be tasked for hauling by dwarves that are very far away. I've had food rot in my butcher's shops because dwarves at my magma forges 100+ z-levels away decided to take the hauling job and took too long to get it. These are issues that can crop up in vanilla. Genesis may have some barrel handling that I'm unaware of. Good luck.
