[3+4] It collects air, fuses it down to iron, and vents excess energy via a plasma cannon. That plasma cannon is high-radiation and can't be turned off without turning off the entire reactor or using all the power it outputs.

Command the monstrosities to hold off on the ground.  After all, it's a peaceful outpost: we're here, we're unfathomable monstrosities from a parallel dimension, get used to it!  If they are hungry, they can just go back to dreamspace and grab a dreamburger or something.  Request that any monstrosities that don't go grab a snack continue working, building with dreammaterials, naturally.
