The plan (such as it is) is to run the roleplaying side of things here, while here in Roll20 is a tabletop format that shows the map and player moves running alongside it.  Tokens can be moved there during fights and such, while roleplay and actions happen here.

I think I tried using it once and I wasn't fond of it. Especially of the fact so many people in the one I run go on and off at different times. Mind you, I also have Auto-CAD to make all of my custom-made maps, which is a very expensive program (even though I got it for free because I got it with the laptop for classes) and not many people know it or how to work with it. So it sticks me with a slower paced game, but I can (horribly) manage. I'll take a look again and see if it works. If I join, I'm thinking of being a "lawful good" paladin (think Kore from the Goblins webcomic). So detect evil, smite evil, ask questions later sort of thing

Question: How are we generating stats? Point buy, rolling or what?

EDIT: What books are we allowed to use too? It could affect my choice of character and junk.

Basic PHB 1 classes permitted.  If you want to use a different class, you'll need to convince me.  No psionics.  Roll stats; 3d6, but you can select which goes to which stat.  (I'll add that to the OP.)

And yes, 3d6 creates a lower powered character, but I'm looking to run a campaign for less 'elite' characters.  Vulnerability without the suicidal possibility of the 6hp rule.  :P

I'm aiming for a Sorcerer, so no complaints there. It's just that some of the books added more spells/feats/whatever that I find useful, so... clear them with you first?

Yeah, that's cool with me.  I just don't want to get carried away with expansion-itis, is all.

Like I say, make a convincing argument, or no - stick to fighters and whatever the heck the base class Shadowsages deviate from are.  :D

I was already thinking this looked cool (because heck yeah, pirates!) and then I saw the setting-- nice!
I'll definitely be watching this, should be quite entertaining. :)

That would be mages, for reference.

Got my character sheet done. Meet Caerill Crundmaíl, bard of the high seas. I was thinking of making a chaotic evil character I had in mind, but the rolls came up with those stats and I decided that a manipulative bastard neutral evil bard would be fun to play. I imagine Caerill's going to be the talkiest of the group. Anyway, the reason for the non-Myth Weavers format is because I have a program that nicely automates the process and makes it into a text file. Plus, I'm not a fan of Myth Weavers.

Accepted, sheet is fine.  Don't forget your personal goal; not only does it make the character more fun, I'll be using those goals in part to shape the story.

Personal Goal: The prestigious Admiral Mikkel Richards must either die a horrible painful death or be so utterly humiliated that his reputation would be ruined.

I'm going to PM you the backstory now.

After careful consideration, is blackguard (aka non-lawful good paladin) allowed? Lawful good and allied with pirates doesn't work out too well...

Yeah, I'll permit the non-LG variant paladin, so long as you're not True Neutral.  Just re-stat your "Smite Evil" and matching abilities to go against one of the axes (so "Smite Good", "Smite Law" etc).
