Deciding On a Skill

I modded in a weapon that has an axe at one end, a spiked hammer at the other, and a sword blade between the handles.

What do you think would be the best skill for this? I was thinking either Hammer or Axe, but maybe Mace to give the skill some more merit.

Unless there is a way to add in a new skill.

If you use axe, woodcutter will claim it. Just saying.

Actually, that's not a bad idea. So many different weapons in a single thing could default to that. It'd be better than Fighter, too. Is it possible?

Yep. In my mod its "Athlete". Because it trains so many physical attributes.

But military dwarves will not equip these weapons automatically, if you want them to pick them by themselves, make it a normal military skill.
