Get a status report on the enemy frigate.

Have the cannons fire on the enemy ship and have the drones provide a screen for the fighters and bombers.

Infantry open fire upon reinforcements arriving, starting with some sort of noxious vapor weapon to flush the people out of the dropship, blow the dropship's engines if possible.

Transmit a demand for surrender, or we'll blow them to pieces. If they do not reply immediately with surrender continue the attack and destroy them.

If they do surrender:

Have the infantry board their ship. Round up all crew and imprison them in an empty hold.
Vent that hold.

We can decide what to do with their ship afterwards.

If they don't surrender:
storm the dropship with the troops we have now, if they're sufficient to get the job done. It'll only let them go on alert if we delay.

Drones target weapons, engines, and the bridge. Try to leave their hold alone for the most part. Wanna get them lootz.

If at any point the surrender, go to the first plan.

----

Engineers should begin working on a DNA bank. Every human is precious for it's unique sequence - with a big enough databank we could probably make out own DNA combinations and prevent inbreeding and genetic stagnation.

A good plan, but try not to damage the dropship that is currently in the bay, for a couple reasons: firstly, the fuel might explode, and secondly,
Wanna get them lootz.

Our weapons are charged and our men are ready to blow you into dust. Surrender now.
[4-2] How dare you! We will not surrender, and you will be the one destroyed!
Feel free to renegotiate, before you're all just charred corpses.
Scanning reports that the enemy AF battery is charging. It will be ready to fire next turn. Three fighters launcher from the enemy ship. Four allied fighters move in to engage. The ship guns hold their fire, awaiting orders. The bombers and the rest of the fighters do the same.

Combat Report:

Ship Guns
- Holding fire, Fully charged next turn
--
Fighter Combat - E: 6,16; A: 5,5,12,19 - E: 12 A: 23,22 - The allied fighters close in and attack one of the enemy Escorts. They nearly destroy the ship, but they managed to kill the pilot. In retaliation, the remaining enemies turn around and engage. One misses, but the other hits the hull of one Escort. 'Tis but a flesh wound!
--
Fighters and Bombers - Holding fire, circling the enemy ship and awaiting orders.
--
Drones - 11,19,7,16,15 - 2,1,1,1,3 - 9,3,10,13,9 - The drones go about attacking various parts of the enemy ship. One attacks the bridge, three attack the weapons, and one attacks the engines. The drones have destroyed one of the guns, and the engines are slowed. The bridge remains in fair shape.
--
Infantry - 152v70 - 5,9,6,2,6 - Once reinforcements arrive and take positions, the original thirty men open the dropship's doors. Immediately, they take fire and 3 are brought down before the rest move back and return fire. The initial volley takes out 5 of the men in the ship. Encouraged by their opponent's lack of armor, the infantry board the vessel. 2 more men are wounded before all of the would-be boarders are taken out. Evaluating the downed reveals that only one man was killed and the rest will recover.

The scientists continue working steadily. [26]
The technicians are working on DNA storage banks. [146]

Fire at the enemy ship with our ship guns, aim for squishy spots, and focus fire! Fighters go protect the bombers. Bombers bomb the ship, aim for squishy spots! Drones aim for the the life support and guns. Infantry man the Ship guns if they aren't manned already. Everyone else continue what you were doing.

+1.

Also, distract enemies and try to figure out what's going on by probing them with questions. "Who are you? Why are you attacking us?"

(Did they state a reason for trying to ambush us?)

((No, they have not given a reason. OOC, the reason is a single bad dice roll.))

((This is a little off topic but, we may want to look into defenses next, because space is not very friendly to ships with holes.))
Edit:((Also maybe we should put some guns and fighters and defense, because I think they have a few ships up themselves.))

Lets shoot them with everything, all fighters engage their fighters and anything else they launch. Bombers target their engines and guns and bridge.

But we need to protect our bombers, they'll obviously be targeted.

So either split the fighters, or use a gun for defense.

I say split the fighters.

2 fighters per bomber, rest of fighters and the combat drones engage the things that the enemy ship launches?

And I think we should primarily target their bridge.

And we should also get some scientists to get DNA samples from the dead guard before it decays too far.

We should have the all combatants sampled before noncombatants.
