Pretty long and off-topic, so SNIP!

I kinda wish it was about some nothing chapter like the Space Sharks or the Rainbow Warriors.

I hope they don't treat the fallen angels as generic fodder enemies. That'd be the worst.

with a more straightforward IP/not being able to coat it in obscure stuff they might not manage as well.
You say that like they couldn't fill it with obscure 40k lore or something. There is a lot of 40k to use, and for once its not related to ultramarines.

Agreed, I mainly meant in terms of obscure mechanics and that a lot of it worked as you had no idea what anything was supposed to be or what was coming next - there was no expectations and they could go off on whatever wild tangent they wanted. The 'story' just kinda jumped around wildly and I felt that was their strength as a game dev team - But with the ruleset/general mechanics and lore being understood by many for 40k, it's got to stick within some boundaries. Even though there is some wacky stuff in 40k, I imagine they'd need to stick with the 'regular cannon' if they're making it with the studio.

With enough work and polish, it could have been a forgettable flash game on Kongregate.

Playing as a librarian should be interesting. Bolters and psychic powers should allow them to keep gameplay fresh, instead of it just being "shoot everything then smash!".

The dark angels character also bodes well for plot devices, with alien artifacts, anti-psyker duties l, gene-stealer purging and fallen hunts all possible. On top of the standard space marine'y things.

It's hard to be more grimdark than DAs really (although I'd love a space wolves game as well). Super-goth rather than emo-whiney or bright-shiney. Plus, funky cloaks on everyone.

Actually, Dark Angels are by far one of the whiniest chapters in the Imperium. They just don't do it in public or in the general ranks. But nut punching yourself for ten millenia over what your ancestors did to your honor is basically the definition of emo.

And they hold the dubious honor of having one of the original heretics in their ranks, the Arch-Whiner Luther.

The Arch-whiners or more ultramarines...Eh, the first one's still pretty good.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

The could do something with one of the chapters even our Spiritual Liege couldn't ruin like the Space Wolves. That could be cool for some over-the-top violence.
