Looking furtively around, and casting wary, distrustful glances at the ruins, the ground, the bushes, the trees, Dargran mutters to himself in Sylvan about what he thinks of this place, and jails in general.
Cold stone. Cold rock. Hard cold rocks. Broken. Not whole. Crushed. Old. Bad. Trap. No freedom. No running. No climbing. No jumping. Trapped. Bad.
The news about the trapdoor seems to improve his mood.
Door. Entry. Gate. Underground. Good. Dark. Shadow. Cool dark. Cold shadow. Good dark. Good underground.

Silfr! Come Silfr!

He calls to his dog, and then he walks towards the trapdoor, also peering into its depths.

"What are you muttering about dark and underground?"
The cleric says turning to the dwarf.

The two staring into the depths see a spiral staircase spiraling down, like a good spiral staircase should. It's about five feet across and spirals tightly enough you'd need to descend to see the bottom.

Fist-Of-The-Mountain squeezes down into the trapdoor and descends, with his back to the wall.

Cantup merely waits for him to get through and flutters down after "Fist-Of-The-Mountain"

Kyle follows down muttering prayers to the lord of light.

Inside Cantup lights his admittedly tiny candle

Dargran goes down as well, quarter staff held ready in his left hand, right hand free for deflecting arrows.

You descend into the dungeon. The Old Prison is shadowy, but there is light every twenty or so feet... dark, purple light from seemingly nowhere. After a bit of walking through a twisty U-turn, you all discover a T intersection; to the right it turns a corridor, the left leads to another intersection and two doors; Fist spots a Magic Missile trap at the end of the hall on the left.

Now what?

Fist begins to lead the way down the corridor. He discovers the skeleton of a wolf climbing out of a pit. It looks at you with its cold eye sockets. [6] It runs up to him and tries to lick him.with a tounge that isn't there. It's really rather freaky, and Fist takes a point of nonlethal fear damage as a result. The boney canine then falls apart. Stupid cheap skeletons.

((Well, that was a thing that happened.
Is there anything else in this corridor?))
