Magic has shown its face around these parts. How do you feel about it?

It's not reasonable! Quit messing around with the laws of reality!

Meh, who cares? Reasonable people work with what they're given.

Most excellent. It would be reasonable for everyone to have some abilities.

Magic? Huh? You're not reasonable enough in explaining this stuff.

Now, go buy some gloves and a sturdy leash.
[12]

A box containing military-grade combat gloves and a nanoweave carbon fiber leash falls from the sky, as a black helicopter flies above you.

....Take out my quest journal and a pen and write Quest Complete over the Excorcism quest.
[8]

No, no. Don't you know that you can't actually write in a quest journal? You just advance the steps of the quest and the text appears there by itself. Still, it does say "Quest complete, talk to Urist McQuestgiver for your reward."

Alright! So! Toss the Phoenix Down up just before I hit the ground so it will float down and hit me after the impact. Problem solved?
[17]

You toss the feather up as you fall. You hit the ground and die, but the feather flies straight onto your chest, reviving you. However, it burns away into ashes as it does so. The Phoenix prepares for another dive as it notices this.

"Oh man, I should have seen this coming.  MEDIC!  Send a medic in there!  At least now we know that inebriation is not a good way to activate someone's special abilities..."

Send a medic to help the subject.  Also have them collect a DNA sample for analysis-- how does his DNA differ from a normal human?  We may be able to create gene therapies to transfer his abilities to others.
[11]

The medic goes and gets the subject to a hospital bed in the infirmary. The subject will pull through. The medic does a quick DNA analysis and finds little deviation to average human DNA.

Keep hiding from the demon.
You stay behind the car as the demon seems frozen in time.

Learn how to manifest ghost powers.
[7]

You think you read a book on this once, but you've forgot what its name was or what it said about the subject.

Go north. Find something of note if this is possible in this barren world.

Science is always important. But it needs more flaming cats. Can't we build bridge-based catapults and fling flaming cats at the dust and goo?

It's time for the ATHATH Death Counter to increase once more in celebration for the end of the world.

Hmm, what could be the origin of these abilities?  But I will wait.  Perhaps it is best if we determine the how before the why.  Perhaps the laws of nature themselves are conspiring with our subjects to grant them powers beyond the pale of normal human ability?  Worth a shot-- no one said they hired me because I was logical!

Place a gravimeter near the subject and see if there is a difference in gravity greater than that attributable to standard deviation.

Toss a bucket of water at the Phoenix's head as it dives.
[12]

Water spouts from your hand and extinguishes the Phoenix' fire, making it plummet, heavily injured. "W-what...?" Maybe that feather did something more than just revive you...

Knock a chair over or something.
[8]

You focus on the chair, and manage to nudge it a tiny bit. The tenant notices this.

zap an wand of polymorph (or teleport if I do not have the poly wand) at the demon [/b]
[18]

You zap the wand, and the demon seems to disappear. The master mind flayers stand up and look at you.

Go north. Find something of note if this is possible in this barren world.
[13]

After a short travel you see something in the dirt, the corner of a concrete building. Maybe there's something inside, if you dig down here?

Is the noise gone?
You hear a strange "zap" and the noise disappears.

Wear the gloves, put the leash on the porcupine.
You do just that.

NUKE EARTH FROM ORBIT, ITS THE ONLY WAY TO BE SURE
[1]

You try to infiltrate a top secret base to gain control of the satellite. The extremely heavily armed guards notice you immediately and shoot you dead. Respawn?

Posses random demon.
The demons are all gone.

[11]

The gravimeter picks nothing interesting up. You're starting to feel that you're taking the wrong approach to this.

I'll be on a trek from 9th June to 14th, don't expect any posts from me during that time. If someone is quick to volunteer, I may appoint a guest star GM.

"Sorry about that, but you refused to listen. Sometimes, doing the "wrong" thing is justified if you're doing it for a greater good, but anyways! I'll drop trying to become a lich, but you have to come on an adventure with me!"

Dry the Phoenix out with my shirt as best I can.

Dig it out. Swiss-showel that I stole sometime before surely can help.
