Magic has shown its face around these parts. How do you feel about it?

It's not reasonable! Quit messing around with the laws of reality!

Meh, who cares? Reasonable people work with what they're given.

Most excellent. It would be reasonable for everyone to have some abilities.

Magic? Huh? You're not reasonable enough in explaining this stuff.

Train reflexes to not be so terrible.

Set up the testing room to be one huge, constantly shifting maze.  First, the participant will run the maze normally and will be timed on his performance.  The second time, the participant will be chased in complete darkness by an eldritch horror.  It is made clear to the participant that if he is caught by the horror, he will suffer a fate worse than death.

The test will determine whether fear can be so great a motivator as to compensate for the loss of a participant's primary sense: sight.  it is expected that because of fear the participant will complete the maze in a comparable amount of time.  It should also be good for shits and giggles.

"Alright.  This seem okay to start with?"

((The testing shouldn't have any actual danger of death or worse; subjects with special powers are extremely rare and valuable.))

((Well, there's no need to actually do anything to the participant if he fails.  It's simply the perception of the threat that is the key here.

Although it doesn't actually test their powers...  I'll sleep on it.))

Knocked down? Search the ground for a sand worm.
[2]

You listen to the sands, but hear no tremors. The phoenix prepares to dive.

"I know that. 95% of any battle is not being hit. Problem is, I have terrible reflexes."

Train reflexes to not be so terrible.
[20]

Dodging bullets, woo. Too bad your trainer suddenly turns into totally-not-Agent-Smith, pulls out a laser gun of some sorts and starts firing at you. You hear commotion around you as more Agent Smaths form.

"Sounds...interesting, but where are we going to get an eldritch horror? I'll prepare a dark maze for you, but there's only so much I can do."

I grab my equipment so I can walk into the wildness to talk to an another dark matter.
(this character is really just dark matter possessing an human  (dark matter do not have souls (Kirby style dark matter)))
[3]

You grab your "equipment" (A piece of cloth) and walk around your room. Puny humans, taking you to an asylum, who do they think you are? Not a dark matter but rather a guy who thinks he's one? Don't make me laugh.

Wander off.
[10]

You leave your body to be mutilated by the demons and walk away. You have a feeling this wasn't the smartest choice.

have an existential crisis
You ponder whether or not you truly exist, or does anything, really. Your train fo thought is interrupted as a door opens into a dark room. "Time to begin testing again, the head researcher for this experiment will be here in a minute."

Bah! Whatever, push it with his finger if needed! Three times.
[8]

You force poketwo to press the button thrice. With each press, reality goes static for a moment before coalescing into a room exactly like the one you were in, except one of them was painted purple.
