==Opening==
Inside the capsule is something odd. It's a long, smoothed, black object, almost like a laser rifle but with the corners smoothed and much larger and longer. It has no visible detail along it's sleek form, other then a giant, partially enclosed grip and trigger at the back and a dial on the side just before the grip. The dial has no writing or numbers or anything; it just has faintly glowing colored sections that it can click between. Red, orange, yellow Green, blue, indigo and Violet. They are distinct colors, not gradient.
==Activation/Description==
When you pick it up in the battle suit the thing immediately opens up, splitting down the center and expanding; revealing the silvery innards under the black carapace. Cables and wires extend from the weapon and wrap themselves around your battlesuit's arm, digging into the plates and merging themselves with the inner electronics. It doesn't talk to you, but it does seem to be subtly effecting the HUD in the suit.
Your hud is effected in that it now appears to have a slight <color> glow and what appears to be a small pictogram on the corner.
It's a bit too long for you to really angle it so you can look into the barrel with it attached to your arm and all.
It doesn't seem to be drawing power from the generator or effecting anything else, at least not right now.
It doesn't seem to have functions to interact with this, but it doesn't seem to fight against it either.
Cameyes reveal heat, small amounts of low grade radiation, and very small amounts of movement or vibration coming from the weapon.
((Examine with cameyes:)) Nothing useful. Only that the gun's outer shell is apparently able to be seen through, but that the actual mechanics of it are all opaque white lumps.
You can look down the barrel now, but all you see is <color> light.
==No Color==
That just causes the gun to collapse back into it's original form. It cannot fire like this.
==Red==
The Red setting causes most of the mass of the gun to shift back and down, forming a large semi circular mass near the grip while the barrel elongates and ends in an almost spike like protrusion.
http://imageshack.com/a/img534/3792/muw7.pngRed one has a pictogram of fire.
This one is substantially more powerful. It basically forms a stream of pure, superheated plasma. You get what amounts to one of these [coronal mass ejection:
http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/525037main_FAQ1-orig_full.jpg] billowing out of your weapon and reducing everything in front of it into molten nothing.
The gun drains your suit's power within a few seconds and you then have to wait for the generator to pump enough power back into the capacitors to get things running again.
==Orange==
Orange shows a radioactivity symbol
==Yellow==
The yellow causes the gun to become even squatter then the green, almost like holding a large box with a grip coming out the back. the front of the box as a concave form, like a satellite dish set into the rest of the body.
Yellow shows a ball with circular lines radiating out around it.
it creates stationary energy mines.
The energy mines seem to just detonate on the targets. And if left unmolested, they seem to sit around forever, or at least longer then you have the patience to wait for.
==Green==
The selector is on a space between the colors. You flip it to green. The weapon itself starts to glow with an inner green light and reconfigures itself into a shorter, fatter, configuration.
It looks sorta like a stylized burst or wave going sideways.
It fires a shotgun blast of green light that leaves behind billiard ball sized globs of green stuff that burn and dissolve whatever they're touching before vanishing a few seconds later. Cool.
The balls appear only on what the light hits, not empty space.
==Blue==
The blue configuration causes the body of the gun to split in two, with a large underslung section and a smaller, spiky rod-like protrusion above it, both running parallel to each other. The underslung portion has almost no light coming from it while the spiky bit is so bright it's hard to look at.
Blue shows what looks like a simple lightning bolt over a starburst pattern
The gun fires a single bolt of lightning out into space. Seeing as it has no target, nothing really happens.
Hitting the two targets, both of which are just lumps of non-living material, doesn't seem to do anything. The electricity just passes straight through them with no effect. ((Maybe it could chain through living targets?))
As you fire the first lighting shot you notice something: The amount of energy that is drained by each shot seems to increase if done in rapid succession; and the effect increases. You fire two lighting shots, and as you pull the trigger for the third one the gun unfolds even more, fins and protrusions stickiness out and electricity arcing between them. The third shot sets the sky alive with electrical discharge; a thunderstorm of purplish lightning arcs through the rapidly darkening clouds. Bolts start to fall randomly near by and the entire block crackles with static electricity. The gun is glowing red with heat and Gilgamesh is flickering in and out of activation, it's generator struggling to maintain power.
And then lighting crawls amongst the clouds, leaping up from somewhere in the distance behind the APC. But the final lighting bolt you see rise from the ground is different; massive and oddly colored. It hits the clouds and bursts, spreading along them like water splashing out across the ground. The clouds begin to darken and crackling purplish lightning races along the sky. The clouds seem to boil and churn, their darkness spreading, chasing behind the APC and snuffing out the sunlight wherever they reached. Fat purple lightning begins to fall from the clouds, even as it crackles across and through them in spreading, fractal shapes.
Judging by the fact that your suit seems to be lulling in and out of functionality you're gonna guess that yeah, it's still drawing power.
((Examine black part:))No, the neutral part doesn't do anything.
((Lightning fast enough to snipe with:))Lighting seems to be, but you're firing into empty space so it might behave differently in atmosphere with conductive stuff around.
==Indigo==
Indigo causes the gun to become very short again, and for the front to branch off into a dozen small, individually moving "heads" like some sort of mechanical hydra.
They don't seem to focus on anything in particular. The glow comes from the tips of the heads.
Indigo shows several lines, by the look of it.
The "Heads" don't seem to react to your thoughts or anything for that matter. They seem wholly autonomous. And currently they're not moving at all, they're just sort of staring forward into empty space.
They're all looking forward, but not in the exact same direction, and if you move the gun, they don't look back at the place they were looking, they just keep looking forward.
They seem to look at some blinking lights on the outside of the ship, and at the doors as they open.
==Violet==
The hud symbol is a sort of swirly ball with squiggly lines going into it.
Pulling the trigger as fast as possible creates a baseball sized ball of swirling purple energy that destroys the plate in a burst of violet light.
Holding the trigger down longer produces a larger ball that destroys the plate even harder with a bigger burst of light.
It fires a shot that can be charged.
