I think all weapons require all 10 boosts to get up there, and note that any weapon that's 7 stars or above has a secret hidden bonus that effectively makes it's min damage 10% less then it's max damage, effectively giving it a damage variance of 90% - 100%, and extending will get rid of that. So often it's more efficient for higher end rares to just not extend it.

There are ways around this but they're often more trouble then they're worth, like a pure dex mag, and frankly even then I have no idea how damage calculations work so that may not even be enough dex to replicate the effects.

Also, emergency maint in... two hours thereabout. Fixing a bug that was preventing emergency quests from handing out items or something. The maint will last for 4 hours.

Sooo in CDT it'll be from 6 PM to 10 PM.

I love the Divine grenade. It eats 40 TP but it hits 1k in a weak spot and by god can it hit weak spots.

@Sirus. How are you finding the basic gameplay of a ranger? I used one before the translation (I gave up because I couldn't read it, and while the plot seemed pretty light, I still wanted one). From memory, I was a bit worried it might just turn into "weak-shot, snipe, pew-pew-pew, repeat." Is it more fun with a party?

I guess there's the advantage that 1-2 rangers are always handy to have along in any party, and you can AoE trash mobs a bit while travelling. Do they seem to scale similarly to other members in the party, or is it that one trick that brings them in line (weak-shot)?

Weak shot is one of THOSE skills that's just so damn good it's hard not to use it. It's entirely possible to build a ranger in a different way (there's a skill sim in the OP), but you'll be missing out on a lot of damage. This is all exacerbated by the fact that most skills are sort've eh middling boosts to effectiveness, so something like weak shot that dramatically increases your damage on a damage oriented class is hard not to take.

Notably it looks like a status build would be very doable as every melee appreciates a jellen, and deband is just great.

Of course if you go into any site on PSO2 they'll shout you down for it but PSO2 has perhaps the most min maxy community I've ever seen, so yeah.

I got ilgrantz, the light magic photon drop skill.  It's the most glorious and fabulous rain of destruction.  Beams of bright and semi-rainbow light shoot out of your rod, flitting through the air with heat-seeking accuracy to slam into enemies.  It's pretty amazing.  That, plus "gain PP back while charging spells" gives me significantly massive damage, and sustainable spells.  It means I never stop regaining PP, and is probably the single greatest skill of the Force.

Speaking of which I looke up some stuff on force

Notable positives:

You have the best dodge skill! It's almost all invincibility frame and lasts for a decent amount of time (for a dodge skill)

You will eventually shit out terrible amounts of carnage. It takes time, customized techs, good weapon gears, and switching between techs for elemental damage boosts (elemental weaknesses aren't that big a deal but it adds up), and you're not terribly efficient about it compared to ranger or braver, but if you need brute force a force is the way to do it. Eventually.

Proably the only class that can reliably take advantage of elemental weaknesses. Again, it's just a flat number on top of your damage I think, but it's somethin.

Downsides:

You're notably fragile. I mean, everything in this game except tank hunters is made out of glass but you are particularly so. Luckily you have that awesome dodge.

There's a lot of spin up time. Early on you'll be running away from a lot of stuff and ultimately not doing a lot of damage. Have a buddy waiting in the wings if you want to make this less painful, notably melee classes start off running and slowly fall off compared to ranged classes, and a hunter is a nice reliable fella that can draw aggro with warcry and kill shit fairly well, all while not dying to a stiff breeze.

You'll be switching techs around a lot, especially if you want to hit elemental weaknesses/support/heal. Those weapon switch times add up.

Generally you'll want to prepare before a fight - you should know the area you're entering, and be aware that it has significant fire, ice, lightning, etc weak enemies.  If you're doing the forest, you KNOW they're weak to fire, all of them.  So prep your spells for fire.  Also prep a light spell, because Darkers are all weak to light.  Most importantly, go the fire route of skills, just so you can get 'recharge pp while casting' because it makes a world of difference.  What damage type you go for after that is whatever you want.

Because you are going to have to work into certain elemental types to get different buffs, you're likely going to end up with one dominant element type.  At that point, you'll probably just go full-out with it.  Don't bother much with shifting spells, because your chosen type is going to be quite a bit stronger than any other type.

Can you tell what each element does? I keep using wind so I get that wind effect thing but I'm not sure what it does.

I am unsure! I know wind does mirage, but I don't know what hat does exactly.

OP has been updated with force info, by the way, ya'll.

I'm not! I can only play a couple of hours each day, and then only if I'm not playing something else instead. I think I'm still at level 3 :P

Don't worry, I've got no qualms to switching to ranger or something to help lowbies that don't want me to trash everything in front of them!

Not to mention you can always do low end TP garnering quests to help out the team, and partying up with any team member rewards some team points at the end of it, which we need for various upgrades. The game pretty heavily rewards buddying up.
