I had some issues with launching as well, what fixed it for me is running the regular launcher and having it verify all the files are up to date. Not sure if you're having the same problem though.
You were right! I launched the regular launcher once and had no problems. Thanks a bunch!

For daily crafts, go to your room. In your room, the console on the left, 4th option is crafting. Select that and then the 3rd option is daily craft. There's a list of requests there and it simply uses your craft slot. Simply wait for the cooldown and do it again.

Ah, that was my problem. I kept on using the purple console (middle in 'my room') instead of the room console. Thanks.

Since the dex matter eludes me I thought I'd do some research and do some maths on how useful it is exactlty.

If this source is correct and I didn't make an error, in any particular attack the max dexterity you'll benefit from (ensuring a 90-100 interval) should be this
dex = 0.08 ( 0.1 ( def - atk ) + batk ) + ddex
Where dex is attacker's dex, ddex defenders dex, def defenders defense for the dmg type, atk attackers attack for that damage type and batk the base damage on the weapon being used.

Going to double check this as I was in a hurry. Will also edit in some attack vs dex comparison when I get around it.

Edit: Assuming every damage value in the range has the same odds, I take avgdmg as the average of max and min dmg.
d(avgdmg)/ddex / d(avgdmg)/datk = 1.
Wait what they scale precisely the same so long as dex doesn't hit the cap? Huh, I wonder if I made a mistake.

P.S. Does anyone know if the crit chance boosts from talents are percentages or flat modifiers? An extra 20% sounds to good  to be true so I'm guessing I'm looking at 0.2%. Worst case scenario that's an overall damage boost of 1.0002, best case 1.0016, assuming it's the latter.

Thing about crits is that they don't actually add damage, a crit just ensures you hit the top of your damage range. So yeah. Even at best the crit boost skills really aren't doing a whole lot. I'm sure it has applications, but it sounds gimmicky at best.

Also rare drop it is. We need several thousand TP for the first level, so yeah. do them team quests! Everyone can get 3k TP a week or so.

OKAY TREE UPDATE

so some may have noticed that the tree buffs are sometimes greyed out. Those last two upgrades that I had no idea what they did? They improve that. Basically the tree periodically emits a buff for x amount of time. And I think when someone takes that buff it is removed. So those last two increase how long the buff is up, and how often they pop up.

So, if that changes anyone's vote, let me know. We've got plenty of time to think about it.

Also an additional note, you can send your support partner out to get bits and bobs, this includes team quests. If you cannot be assed, that's a way to do it. Note it's faster if you do it yourself, however, and they reset daily. If you would like to know more about support partners, let Ygg know, he knows way more then me on that.

---

And finally we are still accepting applications, don't be shy! Join today! Apps have dropped off, but it's a friendly enough group and I can safely say that even at the lowest levels, your average B12er is better then your average pub.

And to the owner of Terence, did you get that guild invite, or do I need to hunt you down while online?

Been playing 100% solo up to this point to avoid awkward moments with people I don't share a language with, so joining the Bay12 team sounds like a decent idea. Not sure which ID you need, so...

Player name (i.e. the one shared between all the characters): Gustavus Mk XIV
Character name (i.e. the dude): Nebelgarde RA-4

Apologies in advance for the complex names.

No trouble at all! If you'd like to make it easier on me go apply for the guild (instructions are in the OP), as that'll give me an in game name to copy off of. I'm currently doing something else but I'll be logging on in a bit.

Also, does anyone know why I can't use techniques placed in my subpalette? I want to keep Resta there so I don't spend so much on healing items, but it is always greyed out :/

I did indeed recieve the team invite, Seriyu, thanks for that.

I've been somewhat under the weather these past few days and haven't been spending much time at a computer, but hopefully I should be recovered soon to get back into the game.

Something I was wondering - are the emergency quests on some kind of fixed timer? It would make sense and, as far as I can remember, they happen at about the same time every evening. Would be nice to get some confirmation.

Also, does attacking when the circle around you turns red make you do more damage, or is it a way of cancelling parts of attack animations or something? It seems to speed up fire rate with ranged weapons, especially by shortening reload times. I couldn't really tell if it causes any change myself, though.

What's up with the... infested, I believe? enemies? They have red names in the top right thing. Best I can tell is it just adds the weird cylinder things to their model as an extra weakpoint. Are they supposed to drop more loot, or be harder to kill, or more dangerous or something?

Sirus: You need certain weapons to use spells, and unless you get lucky with extensions most classes can't use those weapons.

I tend to be a stupid person. Expect me to say/do stupid things and we'll probably get along better!

Whaaaaaat.

That's crap. Every PSO game I've ever played has allowed Hunters and Rangers to use spells/techniques. As long as you weren't a Cast, anyway.

You need a force or techer subclass to use techs in the subpalette.
