Being Facekillz is suffering.

And then the game won't work in your computer. Higely unlikely since it runs fine on my shitty laptop.

I'm approaching the 'giving up' point, I think.
The game just BSOD'd me when I tried starting it up that time. I could open the game just fine when the servers were down earlier, >.>
The game won't even let me uninstall it, D: It keeps saying either there was a problem with the uninstallation, or that it's in use by another program, somehow.

I barely remember any Japanese, as I took 4 years of classes over 6 years ago, but never had much reason to practice aside from the occasional non-dubbed anime. For the most part, katakana and hiragana are burned into my brain with the occasional lapse, but I've completely forgotten all but the most common kanji, like 私 for "I" or "Me."

Going to definitely check this out, both as a game (haven't played Phantasy Star since IV) and as a bit of a (re)learning experience. About 8.5% through the download 15 minutes in, so it should be done after a while.

Sounds like the program crashed but the process is still running.
Restarting your computer or ending the process may fix it. The crash could be a number of issues.

I think I found my problem.
I forgot to actually update the game.
Derp.
Hopefully this should work out for me now.

Considering to download this thing... what should I expect?
Lots of monsters to kill, fun and active combat and a lot of little anime girls wielding big guns and laser swords. It's quite fun!

Anyone got a good guide on mags? I don't want to botch up my only free one by trial and error. Or general advice would be good to, I'm a braver if that's relevant.

Also, anyone knows wether you can use image enhancement with this game? I tried sweetfx but gameguard (what an accursed piece of software this) won't have it. This game's visuals beckon for tweaks!

So, I'd hate to be a bother but could someone post a more in depth guide on how this damn thing is supposed to get translated? I used the PSO 2 tweaker, and despite installing all the English patches and such. Most of the game is still in Japanese. From what I understand, most of it has been translated to English so did I just do something wrong or was I misunderstood?

Mags! In 99% of cases, you want all S-atk/T-atk/R-atk. Pick the relevant one. Bravers can also add a little dex if they take braver mag but generally I wouldn't reccomend it if you're worried about messing your mag up. The issue with ti is that dex's effect falls off at some point and nobody is really sure exactly where it happens.

So yeah pure relevant attack stat if you want to be safe.

Notably the license agreement isn't translated, whihc may have been what set that off for ya. Many client orders are also untranslated, and upon looking into a shop/inventory initially, items may appear untranslated briefly, the game has to load them up.

Generally if items are translated (again wait a bit to be sure), if koffie is mostly speaking in english, and if that initial story quest/ the events you find were in english, you're fine. If not, be sure you installed it by going into PSO2 tweaker, clickin the orb in the upper left, and finding the translation selection. From there it should be easy enough. You'll have to download the story patch from arkz layer, and it's kinda big.

Also that previous downtime was a random connectivity issue, they've found they don't need to do another special maint, no worries.

Yeah, might've. If you installed them before you patched, that's definitely the problem.

What exactly are the client orders? Side quests?

Also, I've been following the quest counter assignments for the most part, but the last one I completed was 4 (later 3) levels above my own and I'm not sure how to solve the increasing discrepancy. I also don't have a whole lot of money to purchase better equipment with.

So, I got through the tutorial, and, I can't tell if the story patch is installed or not.
I walked up to Koffee and pressed E in which she spouted out a line of Japan talk, and then an English 'excuse me'
Did I do it right, and is THIS MUCH supposed to still be in Japanese?

A certain amount of npc chatter is untranslated. The important stuff is translated though. If you really want to know what they say, all npc talk ends up in the chat where you can select it and copy and paste it into a translator.

And theeeere went my internet!

Rain is fatal to both my phone and internet because kansas apparently just cannot be assed. Sorry to leave you Facekillz, but it'll at least be half an hour or so before I get back on. I like to make sure things are actually working before I jump in again.

Client orders are sidequests more or less, yes. They can unlock NPC partners, and mostly just serve as something to do. If you haven't been doing them that might explain why you're behind, as they give a decent amount of exp and meseta. Io's team play ones inparticular give a nice 20k.

Never feel the need to level grind. The exp penalty isn't that big a deal, as long as you're clearing levels you're fine.
