So, are weapons class based wholey, or only to a degree?
For example, in the PS0 on DS, Hunters could use some guns and I THINK magic weapons?

It's class based. You get like 2 class weapons and the gunblade.

You can specially craft or upgrade weapons to be multi-class, not sure on the mechanics of how to do that though.

Some weapons will naturally be multi class, mostly rares. Extending will remove this, but great successes on extending will add a class, or rarely, all classes to the usable pool. I think once a class is added by an extension success/great success it cannot be removed again.

I have heard tell the PSO2 servers are back up. Please note that the PSO2 tweaker lies about server status, so do note that just because it says the servers are online, it doesn't mean they're actually online. You'll need to patch again I believe.

Note that if you're currently getting the game up to date you don't need to worry about doing anything special, this is why it checks for files before resuming updates.

Servers are back up. I restored my backed-up japanese files, patched, reinstalled the english patches and it the game doesn't seem to need an english patch update, the old one still works.

Yeah, there's not a new english patch for every update. You still need to reinstall them. Typically events aren't translated unless they're consistant, etc.

Jesus. A random boss fight turned what would have been a fifteen minute 3 floor run into spending 20 alone on the first level.

Yep! They'll do that. On the bright side, gear dropped by random bosses can have boss "souls" on them, which are powerful stat boosts. Cougar soul is particularly nice, but they all have their ups and downs.

On another note, if you ever see the lillipa mining colony defense mission, DO IT

It's multiparty, super fun, and you get like 4-5 rares at the end of it. Not as good exp as dark falz EQs but still very nice. I'd call it harder then low difficulty dark falzes, as you're defending stationary objectives and it doesn't take long for dudes to chew through them, and the map is awkward to get around. Great fun, though.

I didn't even notice that about the souls. Thanks!

EDIT: Is there any point to watching the floating blue card cutscenes that appear during some levels?
I've watched some of them but they all seem to be conversations of no real importance.

It's easy to miss. You can also move these souls from weapon to weapon via the crafting system, so if you're not like me and don't stick every rare into your storage box immediately for safekeeping you might stockpile a few that seem relevant for your character for later. Player shops sell these weapons for that explicit purpose, no reason not to save some cash if you've got the space for it.

Woo I'm in. Ingame name is Jelle (yes yes most creative), if anyone wants to team up sometime.

About character creation; does a character come out a lot paler than they were during creation or what? Very strange!
Also is there a patch for translating items to english? Mine are all still in japanese. I can probably figure it all out but still be practical to know what stuff says.

Does anybody happen to know how exactly one can change the set control scheme?

I set myself to gamepad initially, and now I have no idea to change that to KB&M which, as far as I can tell, is a much better option.
