It's honestly more like a portal from here to somewhere else. Think portable holes, except you open and close them at will and don't need a solid surface. If you even need a solid surface for those. I don't remember.

Or a bagless Bag of Holding.

Lance Pointe. Some would say you're a sneaky bastard. Others would be sure you're a badass. You got your nine mil', your ordered in tools, and your comfortable black jeans, black hoodie, black converse combo. You've stored the gun in hammerspace for now. Just need a solid flat surface within one foot of you.

You work as a Vat Cleaner. Dirty, probably dangerous work but it gives you a decent paycheck. Isn't New York life grand? You'd think Blackgaurd, the super heroine in the city would think so in a sarcastic way. You've studied her ever since you first saw that leather and chainmail clad body... That sounded dirtier than you meant for it to be.

Anyways, here you are in an alley approaching a thug. (22) He notices your presence and... (13) pulls out a gun. Before he can fire you do an impressive flip onto your hands while summoning your hole and grabbing your gun and then rolling into cover.
Now what?

Use parkour to get vertical and move further along the rooftops until we're behind him. Do so in as complete stealth as possible.

If he sees us, take shots at him while remaining on the move, if not, drop silently behind him and get close.

(9) You look for a way to get vertical but it would seem you didn't get behind the right dumpster. Dammit. Instead you try to just shoot him... (4) You fire in his vague direction... (31) he doesn't even flinch as he fires off some shots of his own... (18) (19) you just manage to avoid it though. Wow, really dodged a bullet there.

What's the range between us?

Deciding simplicity is best you try shooting him again. (13) You fire into his general area... (5) Striking him in the chest and dealing 8 damage... (4) It would seem he is just a mook as he crumples to the floor and starts going into shock. You quickly begin taking what's in his pockets... (21) you find some gum and a spare clip to his decidedly crappy gun. You also get a knife. You hear rythmic clinking coming from the other side of the alley. You should start running me thinks.

Put his and our guns away in to hammer space.

The cops will have a hard time getting us nicked with out a weapon.
And it's sure to shock any more thugs.
