What if they remove the arm that the watch is attached to-- or, if the arm it is attached to is a prosthetic one?
"Aha! Escaped! Wait, why's it around my other arm! Off! Leg. Off! Leg. Off! Neck... well played."
"That's odd... I'm not dead. Ow, my eye! Dang thing shot a needle into my eye! Waiiiit a minuteee... *thump*"
And if the person just happens to be armored in every conceivable way...
Watch: displays sigil of death

~~~
Scroll of Fireball: Hosts a ball for sentient creatures in the Plane of Fire crossways from the user.
Scroll of Earthquake: Shakes all rock golems within a mile of the user to nothingness.
Stomach Stretching Pills: Whoever takes one of these pills finds that no matter how much they eat or drink, they are never full, and their stomach(and surrounding body area) magically stretch as needed to contain what they eat or drink. The stomach of the eater will not rupture or fail in a different way no matter how much the user eats or drinks. Lasts twelve hours per pill. Invented by a wizard to try to save the life of a king addicted to the Cordial of Conspicuous Consumption. It didn't work, due to the effect of overuse of Stomach Stretching Pills: the stomach instantly shrinks back down to normal size and compresses all within it to that size, causing nuclear fusion. Boom.
Bezoar: Cures all poisons, addictions, venoms, curses, diseases, etc. the eater has. Also turns the eater permanently into a goat with another Bezoar lodged in their stomach.
Eat Me: A small label reading Eat Me. When applied to an object, the next person other than the user that sees the label will be compelled to eat the object.
Drink Me: Like Eat Me, but for drinks.
Yanderesocks: A pair of animate black socks. Will magically bond to the first person who wears them, and will work tirelessly to ensure that their wearer will wear no other socks and that they'll never be taken off. If the wearer betrays them, Yanderesocks will... not be pleased.
Mallet of Amnesia: Causes amnesia in anyone who's hit on the head with it.
