Rassura spends the next few turns taking a nap.

((Yeah, I'm gonna be gone for a few days.))

Do whatever possible to stabilize the world.
Vanhurk, if you please, would you mind assisting me? This is well into your domain. I extend the same compensation I offered to Rassura to you as well, should you help.

((An Aspect of Life should be aware that mass extinctions aren't so bad. They provide life an opportunity to change, and more importantly a promise of bouncing back pretty quickly. After all, some survived; it's obvious that the deathlings can survive the water, and they'll be increasing exponentially. And as I've stated, their natural habitat isn't destroyed. They lived in rock, there are still rocks.
And you have to consider the consequences. The planet was draining life from everything in the universe, regardless of who made it or if they wanted it drained for Mort's purposes; isn't that something worth reacting to?

And if you claim that the effect was highly limited in scope, why did no one bring this up before nothing short of a retcon could get us out? If that's how little any of you care about such things, and if you're nevertheless demonizing me for lacking knowledge I had no way to know until it was too late, I don't want to be in this game.))
((Mass extinctions are absolutely horrible when a species is a fledgling, and the planet was not draining from everything, it had effectively no pull on anything outside of its gravity well.))
((And it was brought up before, we pointed it out to you multiple times and you kept going. You were given the knowledge, you just didn't apply it.))

Go poke the crab!

((The info in the spoilers at the end of the turn are info all aspects have acces to, I believe. And that particular bit of info has been in there since Turn 7. It's not our fault for not telling you something you could have read for yourself nearly 100 posts ago and every update since.))

((How about instead of letting this boil over into OOC arguments, we just accept that there's been a misunderstanding and that it's not worth getting overly ruffled over?))

Rassura spends the next few turns taking a nap.

"Ms. Rassura! Would you care to mindlessly assist me in a few tasks while you are asleep?"

Begin liquefying the atmosphere of the gas giant and infusing it with water and ice! The planet Purple shall hold things of interest yet!

((The species was clearly well-established.
I was not told that it lacked the ability to drain from things beyond its gravity well until pages into the debate over it. What was I supposed to do? "My nigh-omniscient being didn't notice that! Haha! So dumb!" Only a retcon of that entire debate would have changed anything.))

((It didn't state the range. Which is the bit of data that would have been useful.))

Incidentally, I'm sick of this on so many levels. I vote we retcon the whole crap with the divine argument, the sealing flood, and such and just SHUT THE FUCK UP. I'm considering leaving even if we do that. You guys seem to not care about my arguments at all, you're clearly not thinking about most of them.

((I agree that we will all stop discussing this in OOC, and I certainly don't want to retcon this. I'd rather find a way to work with it.

However, "until pages into the debate over it" simply isn't true. Your character first stated his dissaproval of the planet in post 226, whereupon my character stated that it weakens over distance in post 246. But whatever, forget it))

((It was still a hell of a lot of debate. By then, there was no good reason for someone to not have told me that it wasn't actually reaching across the cosmos, and there was far too much debate for me to just pretend it didn't happen or something like that.
So retcon it or there's still gonna be problems. And you still don't get off the hook for not telling me before a page and a half of argument.))

((Oh please, our characters argued back-and-forth only 3 times before I had mort say the "depending on distance" thing. That's 6 posts from the both of us combined, obviously not counting posts by other players, before I had mort say this:
Quote
"My planet drains only the life of those on it. The effect weakens signifantly the greater the distance. It will have only very weak impact on the rest of this univers's lifeforms."
What, according to you, should I have done? I can't help it if you make your character ignore what mine says.

And no, unless Irony decides that it is better, I still don't think we should retcon anything. It happened and we will simply work with what we have. besides, gods should squabble amongst themselves, it seems only natural.))

((When you saw my posted action, which clearly stated that I was doing this because it was a blight on all of creation, you should have--instead of calling Quinghai a bastard IC--informed me OOC that it only had effect on nearby things. That would have stopped me from destroying anything, and stopped this argument and divine war from happening.))

((Divine war? All I see is Quinghai and Mort trying rather ineffectually to hurt each other. This isn't my argument to jump into, but why do you need OOC knowledge to determine your IC actions? It seems like IC/OOC separation is kind of important in this game. All that aside, can y'all just drop it so we can get back to the actual game instead of making pages upon pages of OOC pissing contests?))

"Aha! It worked! Perhaps I can get Firalk to help me make some life on it. Maybe some sort of squid-like thing with tentacles that are actually made of smaller filaments that it can manipulate individually for tasks that require finesse. Oh, and it could have bladder-like sacs to hold gasses that it produces to allow it to float above the dense gas core and maneuver through the lighter gas atmosphere." Aquilos says quietly to himself before looking around for Firalk to request aid. Upon spotting the wolf and the new crab, he goes over to check it out.

Go check out that crab. Also, ask Firalk for help.

((I'm guessing the crab came out of that little white ball that appeared a little bit ago, right?))

((I needed the knowledge OOC because I didn't know it OOC. Things I know OOC shouldn't affect IC actions, but things I don't know OOC have to affect my IC actions. Although bringing it up IC at first rather than after trying to convince me that a soul-sucking void isn't so bad would have helped, too.))

Alright. You want to help me work on it after we figure out what this crab-thing is? You think it's friendly? if not, I wonder if it's edible. I've never eaten, and it looks kinda tasty. Maybe we could get Nohpalli to cook it."

We could always make it friendly, alter its brain structure and whatnot if it isn't friendly.
