Fistful of Frags is an FPS set out in the old west.  Its got painfully-slow-to reload guns, whiskey, melee combat, and dynamite.  Also throwing guns at people because reloading is for scrubs.

Oh, and its completely free.

This youtube video explains it pretty well.  Honestly there's no reason you shouldn't at least try this game if you can tolerate the genre.  The shooting feels better than most FPS's I've played, the melee combat feels great too.  And of course its completely free and has low system requirements.

Already played it when I saw it and thought Lead and Gold had gone free.

It's a sourcemod, with all the implications there.  Didn't like it, uninstalled after a couple minutes.

I'm less talking about the engine itself, more about the games.  Most free sourcemods I've played weren't very good.

for a basic, and free, source game, it's pretty awesome imo. Tried it with bots, and more often then not it was two or more people charging shooting blindly. like, imagine western movie duels, only you ran at each other fireing, heh.
Have not tried servers with other people, but, i liked it, especially the gentleman, it jsut removes extras i forget to use anyway, and just make sure you shoot second

Lead & Gold feels like a source mod too, for the record. And not an amazing one like Dystopia or Eternal Silence, which don't feel like source mods at all.

Ah yes, the only way to get health back is to drink whiskey, and that's funny because it gives you the side effects of whiskey too.
