We now have a full auto slimefarm
Output is terrible. 6 hour test resulted in 102 slimeballs. Partly that's because I forgot to put water in the corners, so some slimes are avoiding the kill zone. I've since fixed that. Also because it's only two spawning platforms, as this is the first one I've ever built and I didn't know how many it would be needed and each level is ~2000 blocks worth of mining.
But, slimeballs. For those who want to give it a try, it's beneath the pyramid, third floor northeast, by the skeleton farm.
In other news, construction continues on the wither farm:
Progress is slow, but ongoing. I've recently done the math, however, and it's going to take:
* 304 hoppers
* 152 redstone blocks
* 319 sticky pistons
* 1152 string
* A couple hundred repeaters and comparators
* Some other stuff
Which is kind of a lot. The sticky pistons aren't a huge deal now that we have a slimefarm. The hoppers will take ~50 hours of afking at the iron farm. Non-trivial, but easy enough to do. I don't have enough redstone to finish it, but I'm close enough that it's unlikely to be a huge problem. If anyone has stacks of the stuff laying around but you know in you're entire life you're never going to use it because you don't actually use redstone, I'll happily accept donations. The string is the real bottleneck. The item drop farm is not producing it in sufficient quantities. So far as I know, nobody but me has taken any from the farm, and it's total output over it's lifetime has only been about 6 stacks. That means probably another real life week or two of afking. That's not going to work.
I think the solution there is to built a dedicated drop farm from a spider spawner. Anyone have one they'd like to volunteer? Now that we have the ender ender, there's no point building xp farms out of them.
