In other news, the server population has picked up noticeably over the past few days.

With several stacks of freshly made cobblestone and smooth slabs, an entire stack of glowstone, a diamond Knockback II sword, and many other things besides, I just fell into lava.

This instantly killed my mood to play for a while. EP was right: guard rail urgently needed.

I advise carrying a potion of fire resistance when travelling through the nether. Blaze rods can be turned into magma cream, and we have near-endless supplies of those. There's nothing stopping all of us from having as many fire resist potions as we want. Put one on your hotbar and you can jump naked into the lava and drink it to become immune before you die.

Where did you fall in? Last I checked, the nether corridor near your base is mostly safe, except for that small section with line-of-sight for ghasts around the portal surrounded by netherwort. If you mean by my base...that narrow, unsupported bridge over the massive ocean of lava...well, yes that's dangerous. But I'm pretty sure I put a sign up on that bridge that says LAVA DANGER in all caps and the glass floors near the portal should make it pretty clear there's lava even if you miss the sign.

Also, you can skip the lava completely by taking the portal at the top of the stairs instead of the one inside the cube. It's faster to go that way anyway if you're headed for the iron farm, and if you're headed for the pyramid, it only takes about a minute longer.

There's a stone slab walkway with no walls. I did a double-take when I first saw it; it doesn't really seem like it's over lava, but it is. It needs walls. It's in a heavily decorated area, with red glass and stuff.

In other news, the problem with the NPC village portal being one-way has been fixed. The four-way junction that previously led to it is now obsolete. These stairs between the gold farm and fishing platform now lead to the portal to the npc village:



As a side benefit to the reroute, that path also connects back into the loop, leading to the pyramid and blaze farm rather than a dead end ~50 blocks above them.

In other news, I continued work on a modded 1.7.2 server last night. It will be the 3rd iteration of my previous 'magecraft' servers with all magic themed mods.
