Sure. I actually would usually disallow buying Ritual Adept (Connection). It seems to me that you should always need a connection of some sort to affect a target (Sight works just fine). If you want to be a more specialized caster, you should check out Pyramid 3/66: The laws of magic. Also, I made a couple of example templates for RPM casters in Dungeon fantasy. You can find them and templates for most of the other DF classes in GCS/Data/Dungeon Fantasy/Classes.

Edit: Also remember, these are 250 Point character, not 150 Point Characters.

Oh. Misread. Yay, a hundred more points! Just to make sure I didn't screw this up too, disadvantage cap is 50, right?
Anyways, I think I've figured out part of the core of my character. Adam Evangeline has a curse on him, which causes himself to suffer and bring...problems to those around him. Thus, he's chosen to be a wanderer, separate from all other humans as often as possible. He's willing to come into contact with other people, but he tries to avoid sticking around population centers too much. Then why does he stick with the group, whatever it is? Well, he got lonely and gets along okay with them, but he'll say it's because he doesn't consider them worth protecting from his curse.

I've decided to drop the magic-cycle idea. It was great, but I don't see myself meaningfully contributing to the group. I think I'll switch to a Rogue/Thief, and round out the party.

Disad cap is indeed 50. I suggest look at the Templates from the Dungeon Fantasy books- You don't have to use them, but they'll help you estimate how effective your character is.

1000$ by default. You shouldn't buy more than a level or two more wealth, though you can go as low as dead broke. Also note that Signature Gear gives 500$ per point.

Does the disadvantage limit include disadvantages that come from the Dungeon Fantasy Templates?

No, those are in. Check the section of DF1 on gear. All TL0-4 Melee weapons are included.
