Subtract the relevant stats number from the skill level and you have your reletive number. I thought it was rather simple how they explained it.

Unless you can give me a description of how Level and Actual level are different numbers, or that one doesn't state the rank you put it at, or how 17 apparently equal 13 or 14, then I have no clue how to change the skills.

((Seriously, as good as the book and system are, their explanations need some work or more examples))

Level is the total level of your skill, and R. lvl is the level of the skill relative to it's controlling attribute. For example, if you have 1 point in mental strength, a Will/ Easy skill, then you've raised it to Will +0. Your level is equal to your will, and your relative level is +0.

I think you made your sheet private.

Yeah, that works. I will point out, in the magic system you're using, it's usually cheaper to only put one or two points in each spell, and instead buy as much IQ/power investiture as you can. In this case, you can buy up to 6 levels of Power Investiture, and up to IQ 20. I'd also advise that you get some background skills, check the cleric template in DF1 for details. If you want to be a less generic cleric, theres an entire book on them: DF7: Clerics.

But I'm currently only spending 28 points on the spells themselves.  I can, however, make one minor adjustment to this, gimme a sec...

I'll probably pick up some background skills, but the point values of them will be fairly low.

Take two points off each spell and buy another level of Power investiture. Or take two points off each spell and 4 points off each other spell skill and you'll have enough for a level of IQ. If you sell of the will and perception that come with it, you have enough for another level of IQ. Also, you don't really need the healing advantage, you have spells that do that.

just put a single point in a couple skills. That'll get you plenty, and you might well find a use for them. Besides, it makes your character more well rounded.

I'm not seeing the background. And the sheet looks better, though you should still ditch healing and raise your IQ some.

edit: Wait, wrong person. gimme a sec.

You're still 5 points over the disadvantage limit. In addition, note that all regrowth does is allow you to regrow limbs without external assistance. It doesn't speed up your healing, so this'll take months. Also, powerful healing is pretty cheap in this setting, so you don't really need it to get your limbs back. You can take it if you want, I suppose, but it's probably a waste of points. a really big waste. You might also want to see about buying some discs, if you're going to have the skill to throw them. This might be superfluous with your bow, but you can take it if you like. It might come in handy if your bow gets smashed. You also don't really need broadsword and shortsword, especially seeing as they default to each other at -2.

I didn't see any disk weapons in the basic set and I figure having decent skill in both will be useful should I need to use one rather than the other.
Also, now I need to find another thing to waste points on.

You can never go wrong with basic attributes. DX in particular is something I'd advise you go for.

Also when editing your sheets, I'd strongly advise that you make sure to mark down not just the skill name and levels, but it's controlling attribute and difficulty, like so: Karate (DX/Hard). This'll make your (and my) lives easier in the long run.

Okay, can you take another look at my character?

The only reason I did have healing was so that I could cure disease and whatnot, which my current spells can't do.  In fact, none of the listed healing spells in the base GURPS book allow me to do that.
