Maybe get Kirek out of the sun, he's a little bit too shady for daytime durability.

I agree with Karkov if only because I want to advance the plot rather than engage in copious amounts of frivolous shenanigans.

Besides, we could melt that thing down and make armor or weapons. Maybe.
We may be able to enchant a metal tube to emit a short, high-pressure burst of air when used, though, and use tiny spheres made from melting down the cannonball as ammunition.
Like a crappy gun or something.

Quidives cracks open the chest with a quick strike from her mace covered tongue, before rifling around in there, it is mostly Absinthe, but there is also a few highly alcoholic healing potions. and an empty bottle that looks fit for a knight what with all the spikes and gems, it however reeks more of alcohol than anything else in here. it's spout is long, and wrapped in a fine leather, intended to be a handle of some sort.

Evimeria Looks around for enemies, but see's none, they are likely inside the ship, attempting to not be dead on impact.

You and Richard go into the ship, the gently light of lanterns being your only means of sight. You might be willing to risk a bit of magic to see in this inky blackness considering your affinity for it.

your potion wears off, leaving you feeling lighter without the mass of dark fuzz surrounding you.

What will you do?

Richard smacks the pirate with the pommel of his sword, knocking him away, while Kirek Diplomances as best as he can without magic.

"why are you attacking us my good sir?"

"Why are you poking around our ship?!"

He grimaces as the diplomacy distracts his attack enough for his blow to miss unluckily.

Quidives raids all of the stuff.

"Uhh, well to be fair, in most cases similar to this one, you would be intoxicated, and I would be dead" He states, confused at the idea of people actually helping others who are in trouble or need.

He is still very clearly on his guard, but seems less likely to attack without warning, he will probably warn you if he intents to stab you.

What little memory serves you says that pirates have little in the way of morals or laws, unless it belongs to him, specifically, you doubt he will care if you steal one or two hundred crates of whatever.

"Halp? is that where you give people things in return for stuff? sounds impractical. But you would have to kill Captain douchebag for anything like that, he up and kills crew members who 'halp' people. if you can kill him, the rest would prolly fall in line, since he is a douche that none of us like. loot would be a good enough recruitment strategy after you kill him." The pirate bluntly informs you.

"He should be in the captains quarters on the other side of the ship, be sure and pick up alcohol if you find any, pirate's thrive on it."

You remember this from one of Richards many history lectures. Apparently Pirate culture actually involves an afterlife where they believe alcohol brings life to the dead, similarly to how it kills the living. so they drink it and hoard it in reverence due to it's usage in many spiritual rites and techniques. The same goes for specific kinds of gold coins.
