You are completely and utterly shocked at how lucky you were that that diplomancy worked, Your slime hops out of the arm's joint and returns to the safety of it's bottle. you rush through the door quickly as the ogre rushes face first into the door.

Maybe you aren't so lucky after all...

You are accosted by a boss fight, what will you do?

Diplomance! Work with Richard to convince the pumpkin to relocate to a much nicer and more reasonable area for a pumpkin within the kingdom, perhaps even to start a sentient pumpkin community!

Ask the "Guardian of the Graves" why it isn't guarding the graves from being robbed and the remains being reanimated as undead.

A flash of lucidity appears in the Pumpking's eyeholes as your diplomantic magics work through.

"My response to that would be mind control, do please beat the hell out of me so I snap out of it?"

The guardian snaps back to full mind control, but not before making some very obvious looks to the crystal in the hand it is using to smash the crap out of Evimeria.

Or it would have, if she hadn't summoned her scepter at just the right moment, Deflecting the attack almost completely.

Very fine cracks appear in the hand crystal.

The massive skull begins to shudder with magical intent.

Multiple lumps appear in the ground, though they hesitate due to diplomantic influences.

The giant hand sinks back into the ground, leaving a small crater where it once was.

You hear the sounds of a struggle in the room behind you, likely the ogre and the convinced doormaster having a pointed disagreement.

You begin to feel the effects of intense repeated diplomancy, honestly all these successes required quite a bit more mana than normal diplomancy would.

A thin fog of sorts appears above the battlefield.

What will the party do?

Switch into team combat perspective. Here's a plan: (Probably not the best, peer reviewal is awesome and something that should be done whenever possible.)

Quidives: Read the teamwork scroll.

Richard: Use whatever divine favor is currently available, either on the boss on the party, whichever is more...wait for it...favourable.

Dragon: Evoke the power of the hat.

Evimeria: Attempt to Steal the crystal the next time the hand appears close.

Kirek: Pull knife out, take flight and fight defensively, chopping any more vines sprouting among the party.

Skeletons: Fight the boss.

Quidives reads what little text there is on the scroll, "A blade and a friend is all that is  needed, to learn a new power, even great foes have heeded"

Half of the scroll glows brightly.

The fog begins to thicken above the battle field, Richard enters a meditative state.

"Damn it all that's what I have been trying to say! This hat HAS no powers yet, I WANTED the shadow man to pump some voodoo into it, but nooooooo, 'it would be a waste of time right now' she said."

The hand has not appeared this turn, Evimeria remains on guard for it.

*Kirek begins his assault, taking flight, and chopping at the vines immediately as they appear.

The skeleton brothers attack full force on the main body, dealing some damage to the skeleton portion, The skull's focus is broken, releasing a much weaker spell than intended.

-Vines burst through the floor, but are immediately cut down by Kirek, not a hint of damage is done.

The skull Fires off its spell, but it explodes in it's face, shoving Sherlock slightly away.

The skull begins shaking violently, preparing a much more powerful spell than before.

A single large lump appears in the ground, revealing three small pumpkin minions, they are invested with mind control crystals.

The ground begins to shake.

Kirek's ability to hurt things with violence has improved every aspect of himself, through leveling up!

Kirek: Help Quidives out with the scroll.

Quidives: Pull out weapon while fulfilling the scroll's conditions with Kirek

Richard: Keep invoking divine favour.

Evimeria: Fight minions off with staff.

Skeletons: Brace for impact from the spell.

Dragon: Stop snarking and do something useful.

Kirek and Quidives fulfill the scroll's requirement, It dissolves as new memories of them fighting in tandem flood their minds, a duet of violence, magic and skill, in an opera called death.

TANDEM SLASH LV1

Rick's meditation reaches a fever pitch, the fogs reveal themselves to be clouds in disguise, dropping a bolt of lightning atop the Guardian.

The guardian is paralyzed!

The skeletons brace for impact

Evimeria stumbles in an attempt to rush the pumpkin beasts, they leap for her, before being brutally repelled by the dragon, knocking them out.

The dragon begins feasting on the crystals in an effort to ignore the broken leg that got it.

The gargantuan skull casts it's spell, you hear the word "Sicker" before a blast of magic washes over the area.

Richard has become poisoned.

The skeleton hand bursts through the ground, as the shuddering noises of the ground intensify, but the hand is frozen as well.

Now's your chance!

Kirek channels his newfound teamwork, summoning shadowy swords in very specific locations, each blade honed and enchanted finely and efficiently.

Quidived prepares for her portion of the attack, jumping from sword to sword, utilizing her froggy ancestor's power, launching the blades directly into the hand, piercing it with each and every one with a force no simple magic could muster.

Upon her jumping off the final blade, Kirek takes that as his cue to detonate them  the directed explosions all focus on one thing, the target.

This author calls it a target, simply because, no stretch of the imagination could call it a "hand" after this.

Without the influence of the Mind control gem, The lime-green vines rot away, releasing the guardian of his internal prison.

"I thank you heroes, without your aid, I and my charge may have been lost to evil and horror. Now it should be a simple matter of destroying this giant skeleton while this platform shatters like all too little glass."

"what do you mean by th-

The vines, having been worked into the platform itself, rot away with the rest of their lime green brethren.

The entire area shudders incredibly, and cracks appear in the floor.

"That is what I mean by that. I wouldn't worry about the sudden drop at the end however, this entire tunnel is enchanted to loop, and diminish gravity for just the occasion."

Evimeria has begun to glow slightly, though it is almost unnoticeable.

Evimeria: Manipulate luck retroactively to have had some of the platform pieces formed into enough gliders for those of the party who can't fly on their own power.
