I'd like to say that not all paradox preventation measures are fulfilled. We still have to survive until present time without dying horribly.
Nonsense. Luck wouldn't die even if you killed her.

Now we can just be like "Wait, we survived to the present, that couldn't have happened!" and then BAM! Crisis averted.

you strike at the eye once more in an animated fashion, shattering it's visor, and your beloved cane.

"And -that- is how you smash a floating eye, the alcohol just makes it much easier."

Aight, now that that prepaid sucker is disposed of, for now anyway, what is your name little missy?

Well, I go by 'Evimeria' and I-

-still haven't been properly introduced what.

you are gripping the vessel of the old ones, his mouth erupting with tendrils, wow you have never heard a dragon make that noise and holy hell you are in the air.

Your grip slips sending you falling towards the earth, but thankfully, you land directly in the nearby well, a dwarvan caravan covered in spikes directly next to it, pulling yourself out of the well you glance over at the mobilized deathtrap.

I might be in excruciating pain, but at least i dodged a bullet there, whew!

Landing face first in water only mitigates damage caused by falling hundreds of feet, you look like you ran though a "getting punched in the face" grove, and hit every branch on the way out.

Your vision also dangerously blurs from hunger, Dying here would cause a paradox, tearing asunder time/space and killing all living and nonliving things, in this timeline. unlike what some people would think.

You scramble to your feet in realization of just what is happening, undead are rampaging about the streets, the local guild fight valiantly against the hoard of shambling corpses. the castle looms in the distance.

you also realize that your godly gown is feeling a little less, godly than usual, likely the price of the old ones, it's ability to reflect your health has become severely delayed, it will take much longer to repair or degrade from your shifting health, Maybe later on you could infuse it with more power. but for right now, you got some Royalty to save.

What will you do? Barring create time paradoxes of course.

You rush to the castle, the shadowy one and some strange creature are battling a powerful undead, nope, not having none of that, you got bigger fish to fry.

a puddle of bile and partially digested soup suddenly appears under the frog thing, causing her to slip and fling some flask of red stuff at the abomination, you steal from the shadowy ones rucksack on your way to the throne room, using a very temporary cane summoning. Hey, you recognize this gun, you cast it to the mortals as a divine prank, funny how things turn out. innit?

an explosion rocks from behind you, throwing you into the throne room

And there is the exact reason you came, this exact crap right here, necromancer and blob thing, you take aim and...

*click*

What? no, Oh hell, come on you stupid thing!

you pour the last of your luck and mana into this little abomination against your better judgement, It states right on the tin that you can fire it, and by the Gods you are going to.

The gun flashes in a glorious light, before spewing a golden bullet, wrapped in hellfire and awesomeness, Tearing through the Blob thing and punching directly through that Lich's smug face.

You pass out on the floor, exhausted in every sense of the word, there better be some food when you wake up.

And that is the story of how i became the fresh prince of bel-air, we now return you to your regularly scheduled sitting around being pure darkness.

INTERMISSION COMPLETE

You are now Kirek.

The strange lady lies in a bed, her wounds are fairly healed, thanks to some of the best shamans that the crown can buy. you keep watch, after all of this business you could do with some rest yourself, but right now could be literally the worst time for it,  even if it is the middle of the night. Besides, Being this late, your shadow density is through the roof. just a little Longer before you can properly transform again.

you take note of her belongings, a vaguely magical Gown, A bundle of Herbs, and an artifact of all things, its power resonates precisely with the one you detected in the forest originally, how could she have gotten this? you also take back your gun, basically worthless now that it's one bullet is used up, you decide to leave it with the rest of her belongings.

"Man, I am still angry that I lost all that Roman Hellfire, Where did that gunk on the floor even come from?"

Her face is slightly singed from that particular experience.

"No idea, but surely you can make some more?"

"Yeah, if i wanted to go obtain demons blood, a crafting glove guided by the soul of a five-hundred and thirty-three year old Roman, Tar from a time-split bog and 3 gallons of Purified Alcahest."

"Ok, i get it, it was expensive, speaking of which, How does your alchemy even work?"

"Well the general process is to Obtain alcahest, Apply it to objects, which turns them into powder, then I mix or split these powders into more basic or advanced compounds, and finally, I Either Melt the powder in a Crackpot to create items in the true alchemical sense, Or mix it with water to create a potion of some kind. it is a very vague and poetic system, and can be applied to almost any item, to varying degrees of success.
The end result is often dependant in the tools used to perform it, rather than the materials used. My Personal set is primarily for making potions, but if i had a crackpot, I could likely make small things."

"Err. sounds complicated, to say the very least."

"It really is, but eventually, you figure out what works, and recipes often give some hints as to how alchemy works as a whole, along with their specific purpose."

You believe Richard is Speaking with his father about the Evidence note last time you saw him, and tha shamans say that the lady will wake up in two turns or so, just a basic case of total mana system failure, then maybe you can get some answers.

Speaking of Richard, you believe your friend here told him her name, what did she say again?

What will you do? the castle staff have made it known that they would be happy to escort you about the place, if you so chose, you would be back before she wakes up

And the gang is all together. How have I been doing on this so far?
Awesomely.

First priority is checking the dead people for loot. Then, after plundering them, we should accept the offer of a guide, asking to see the treasury, armoury, and magic place (wizard's tower, magicky dungeons, alchemist's lab, whatever this castle happens to have).

Don't forget to equip the bracer. If we stay inside during the day we could store so much SD it's ridiculous.

Apparently the shamans were joking grimly about her condition, with mana strain like this she will be lucky to survive the night. much less wake up any time soon.

your attempts to get the Artifact off of her are foiled, by Crazy Al no less, he seems off however, merely Waving a hand over it silently, It glows with an eery light for a moment. He turns and says something ominous, perhaps more frightening by the fact that he wasn't screaming at the top of his lungs.

She bought from us, leaving only a blank check, we took liberties with a proper price. Heh. Tell her when she wakes up to come on by if she wants to pay off her tab in coins rather than curses

The bracelet appears to be stuck on her until further notice.

You decide to Add this to the ever growing list of questions to ask once she wakes up, but for now, Tour time!

The helpful servant shows you around to some of the closer attractions that the castle has to offer.

Here at Macguffin castle we pride ourselves on our "Efficiency" as mandated by the king, Him being a novice in most arts from his journeyman life, decided to make the castle more mishmashed to keep people from "Having to run around every time they want a potion AND a sword", Here we have The Blacksmith/Mechanic's workshop, The worker here however is planning on leaving some time next week, claiming self discovery of some sort, He is a master at what he does however.

"And here is the King's Royal Crap-storage, he was inspired when he lived out of a cave with a miner for three weeks, digging up diamonds for tools and armor, I still think he is full of hogwash, as diamonds are far too brittle to be made into such things. But I digress, from gold to rotten bread, the king insists that if it is free to be used, by any member of the castle staff, it goes here, Though i must admit, some of the stranger things found here have inspired many a worker to go beyond his station, Like when the Royal shaman managed to cure a frightening case of swamp fever after he found that Onions made a suitable replacement for one of his powerful brews."

Here we have the Kitchen/Marketplace, Many of the Castle's Salespersons found this to be a great place to peddle their wares, as good food and dr-

FOOD? WHERE?

The strange lady Rushes straight by the servant, decking him harshly in the face with a jumping punch in a mad scramble for the soup of the day, Talk about a fast recovery.

The servant gets up, already sporting a growing bruise.

Err, Yes, Food and drink Loosens a tight wallet as I was saying.

On the way to the infirmary you spot a group of magicians Studying the goop near the throne room, one of the Older ones, tosses you a bottle and a satchel, one full of the goop, and the other Gold coins

You, young one, Our payment for your runes.

Wizards, huh, those guys are pretty cool you guess.

And here we have the infirmary once more, now if you will excuse me, I need to get a frost-iron pack on this. Also, the wisards guild is at the end of the hall, give them a visit if you seek magic of some kind.

What will you do before the inevitable interrogation?

Growing impatient, you decide you should get this confusing situation resolved, and ask the girl just what the heck happened.

Hey, you, i think it is time you explain all of this strangeness, who are you, how did you fire that gun, and how did you just show up at the most convenient time like you did?

Simple, *Nom* I got *Nom* Lucky, and you can call me Evimeria, now *Gulp* leave me to my meal, Morta- Oop, uhh, whoever you are.

This is about as sucpisious as how she can eat that much, but you leave it be for now, But inform her of Al's message.

God I hate dealing with those old ones, if you don't give em' what they want, poof, curse. bah plenty of time to worry about -that- later for now I- Urp

She vomits all over the floor, while miscasting a spell of some kind, which makes it disappear to parts unknown, this will likely happen for a while until her mana system heals completely.

you leave, shaking your head at Evemiria's antics.

A merchant at a different table proudly displays his wares while sipping on some kind of drink, you see The goddess gown off to one side, he must be the royal tailor ordered to repair it, you also see some of the other wares, being wooden and glass beads with runes of some kind engraved on them, an extremely mild magic courses through them you sense.

What will you do?

Authors note:
What exactly are the rules regarding double-posting? In this specific instance, I had no idea what I should do specifically, since there were no actions posted in the "one update a day schedule" so i just made the default choice.

There are no rules against double-posting. People just don't like to do it.
Inquire further into her condition, become suspicious of her hiding something

There isn't any real policy on double posting if the posts are of quality in the FG&RP section I think. The Toad has never expressed a stance on such as far as I know.

Let's go to the Royal Crap Storage.
