Typically, you're expected to take on four encounters with a difficulty equal to your character level per day. You may notice that, with only three spells a day, this means you blow your load pretty early. Low level wizards are pretty weak in a straight up fight. This Hobgoblin fight could be a pretty tough encounter though, and they tend to have poor saves...

I think I saw one that extends one's land speed by 10 feet, which seems pretty handy, especially if it's for a long duration.

Can no one benefit from the armour or shield?

Also, I'm sure it's written somewhere, but how much copper = 1 silver and how much silver = 1 gold?

It would be sweet if we could all get dogs to ride on.

It would fit either of the dwarves as they count as medium creatures— not sure they need it though.

We need to level the druid up to where she can summon additional mounts. Unless we use animal handling to train up monsters that we catch in the dungeon...

Nice - skeletal wardogs, for example?

Also our rogue should probably retrospectively buy some thieves' tools if our GM will allow it as it looks like this didn't quite get finished.

edit:
You should probably take:

Thieves’ tools    30 gp    1 lb.

Waterskin    1 gp    4 lb.
Rope, silk (50 ft.)    10 gp    5 lb.
2xRations, trail (per day)    5 sp    1 lb.
Caltrops    1 gp    2 lb.
Backpack (empty)    2 gp    2 lb
2xSack (empty)    1 sp    ½ lb.

total 44GP and 11SP and 17lb

I thought it was 10 copper to a silver, and 10 silver to a gold peice.

Surely the sneaky rogue or the fearsome warrior must go first!

With AC 16, we need the dwarf warrior to go first. Then the rogue, looking for traps etc., then the rest of us can follow at a leisurely pace. That said:

With a lance at range 10, does that mean anyone attempting to engage closely will provoke an attack of opportunity?

Yes, but only if his lance is actually at the ready, and he's not flat-footed.
