HOLY SNAP SO MANY REPLIES

Now, how do I make a character (I've, unfortunately, not actually played DnD.)?
HELP MASTAHCHEESE WHAT DO NOW?
I still don't know anything about DnD. HOW DO I MAKE A CHARACTER SHEET OHGODOGOHDOHGODHELP!
I'll try to help you out with that. Be patient!
THANK YOU MNII
Here, make an account here and send me a PM when you're done. I'll walk you through it.

Question: how can I be a bard/sorcerer at 1st level, anyway? Wouldn't I just be a bard?
Also, I rolled a one for my skill points. :P
I said to make your character at level 2, so that people like you will be multi-classing with one level in each.
Also, roll for skill points? I don't think you have to do that.

mastahcheese, can i choose an alignment other than True Neutral, since I've got 3 others that are tied with it.
Alignment really doesn't matter that much.
If you start to RP as an alignment other than what you are, I'll shift your alignment accordingly.
So just do it in-game.

I'm a cleric, but I have more INT than WIS. Damn it. Mastahcheese, can I be an Archivist instead?
I don't know what that is, so no.

Mastahcheese, Variant Character Classes are okay, right?
Um... You'll have to ask on each of those individually if you feel like taking them, because I don't want to read through all of them, and I've never seen them before.
But if you point one out to me, I'll see if I'll allow it.

Can I use composite crossbows?
I've never even heard of those.

Either give me the rules on them, or no.

I've decided to go with worshiping the Flying Spaghetti Monster, with the Atheism Domain and Culinary Domain. Are they okay, Mastahcheese?
Atheism, no. Even if solely for the fact that I've never understood how in the hell spell resistance works, and it sounds OP.
As for Culinary, that looks pretty hilarious. Go for it.

I imagine, at level 2, we start with 900 gold.
Actually, you don't start with shit but the clothes on your back.

Bret the Cloistered Cleric has taken a vow of poverty. First person to ask me through PM gets 500 gold, next gets 300 gold, third gets 94 gold and 4 silver.
Stop!
Bull fucking shit, I disallow the fuck out of that feat. I don't even know why they even made that stupid thing.

I told you guys, if it's outside the core book, you have to ASK FOR IT.

I'm looking at Cloistered Cleric, but only if Archivist is a no.

Fair enough. I'll find another appropriate domain if Archivist is a no.

Fair enough, but I think their reasoning is that A. You can't use magic items, which is a HUGE disadvantage, especially at high levels, and B. The bonus feats are generally kinda crap. There's literally two good ones.

Quote from: Wrex's D&D Modifications
•   Crossbows can be made to utilize the user's Strength bonus by mechanisms that provide more resistance, and recoil when fired that requires a stronger user in order to utilize properly. This otherwise works just like composite bows, including the +75 (light) or +100 (heavy) gold per + of strength bonus on the 'pull'.
Basically, you can apply the composite bow rules to crossbows too. There are actually a lot of nice rules Wrex made, such as crossbow armor penetration and learning of skills by practice. I tend to use them when I run my games.

Battle Sorcerer Variant Class okay?

What about items and such from the Arms and Equipment Guide?

Doesn't not having anything make most if not all classes rather useless?

Ok, first off. To clarify.

YOU DO NOT START WITH ANY GOLD OR EQUIPMENT.

PERIOD.

Also, you probably won't be seeing much in the way of magic items at all for a good while (I personally dislike magic items that are not limited use, that's just me. Scrolls and potions and stuff you'll likely see, though.)

Now, then.

@MNII:
Ok, I just read the Archivist, and it basically looks like a wizard version of clerics.

Hmm... I'll allow it.

Well you don't start with stuff, so don't worry about that right now.
Also, I said you don't start with anything, not that you never get anything period.

Battle Sorcerer Variant Class okay?
Hold on, I'll look at it.

So no spellbooks for wizards then? Doesn't that make them just Commoners with pets?

Edit: Oh, and I think I just want to take cleric, and be different than everyone else. So could you take a look at Cloistered Cleric?

I don't really consider spellbooks to be items half the time, so yeah, you get those.

No pouches though, which means your spell selection is almost nil.

Ok, I looked at it.
It seems to give you a lot of bonuses, with really not much in the way of practical drawbacks.
So I'd rather not.

Pouches?

Pouches?
Most spells require you to have some sort of specific reagent, like dirt from a grave or a tart, most of the time abstracted by stocking a spell component pouch with a certain number of gold worth of random ingredients.

Yeah, I've never played a game where people gave a shit about reagents.
Unless the cost of the material component exceeds a whole gold piece, I ignore it.
All players start with the Eschew Materials feat for free, basically.

How about the Armory Domain?
Give me the info on:
Weapon Shift
Persistent Blade
Flame Dagger

And then I'll tell you.
