I am nice and dug in at my third year, producing lots of bronze and crafts, and mainly surviving by farming

I have about 40 dwarves or so, have a very nicely finished dining room, and plenty of 3x3 and 4x4 suites with cabinets and coffers in them. My road outwards is almost complete so next year I hope to receive a larger human delegation.

But, I have NO nobles ! Not one.

in the wiki I met the requirements for at least a couple, so I don't understand very well where I screwed up (am blessed ^^)

Maybe the third year is just too early for them?  I think it was a year or two after I passed the milestones that I got nobles, and then they all showed up at once.  If you haven't, you might want to get a prison ready for the sheriff.  (I didn't get one in time and he went angry, went on a rampage, and before I knew it both he and my housefer were dead and I had a fisherdwarf hospitalized.  I wonder if I will get another sheriff at some point or I'll just have to get by without shoddy law enforcement.)

I believe you will get a replacement Sherrif if (when) the first one dies.

In my experience, if you meet the requirement by the time the dwarven caravan arrives in the fall, and they survive long enough to make their report, you'll get the appropriate noble in the following spring.  You haven't been drowning the dwarven caravan, have you?

I suppose I should see about using my chains to make a jail, then.  Next time he might kill someone important.

Nope every time caravans have been escorted out by my troops. so they always made it off the map.

I had some human delegates this year, but they didnt have much to sell but clothes, I think it is because my road wasn't entirel finished by that time.

So no, don't think it is a caravan issue.

Yeah, wiki says the requirement for manager is 20 dwarves. How did that person do it ?!!
