Yes. I explain in more detail in the Imperia blog. Basically it comes down to waiting a few more days at the most to show off almost a half-year of work in the best light. Plus, I need to write a manual! Oops. :-)

Link to the Imperia Sourceforge project page is now up on blog (imperiagame.wordpress.com). There appear to be some issues with uploading files right now, even using an SFTP server. I have to go to work later today, but if the setup files upload properly, they will be there. If now, I'll work on it tonight. This release has everything I wanted except the planet screen is still not resized for different resolutions, but every other screen works. If you have a small screen, this will still probably make Imperia unplayable since the edict panel is on the far right. I'm working on a few different solutions and the next build will have *something* workable. In the meantime, however, I wanted to release what I have since it should be pretty stable and get some feedback!

First download, yeah!

EDIT: took four tries for it to actually download properly. However, when it did...



I don't know if it was the downlaod was bad, 7zip unpacked it wrong, or it was a mistake on your end, but either way i can't play it.

My tries at downloading the Alpha from SourgeForge have failed, and the amount I download per try increases, so I reckon it is still being uploaded or something? Anyway, I will try again later.

Something seems to have gone horribly wrong in your upload, 7zip can't even open it and when I try with Winrar it says there's a corrupt header and can only extract some music and fonts and the setup executable.

Idem. On his website TexasHawk indicated he was off to work, so I guess we'll have to wait for him to come back. Ah well.

It's very unstable for me. Clicking on anything crashes the game, and just looking around the map crashes the game. I currently find very few things that do not crash the game. Is there an error log or something I could provide?

Hmmm. I've tried it on several computers and they all are stable. If you have an error message, please post it here. It should download the XNA dependencies automatically if you don't have them, if not, it needs the XNA 4.0 Redistributable to run.

I will be at work until 10 this evening but I will be checking this thread and the blog periodically for questions and concerns, however if I do not respond for a while that's why. :-)

Hm. You might try redownloading it - I've gotten several messages from people saying the game is now running with the complete download. I have verified the current file on SourceForge is complete and ready. Good luck!

Working for me, for a certain definition of "working". Escape closes the game instantly and I can't figure out how to save. A lot of the menus seem to be inaccessible (War, Science, Emperor Data, etc), all I can see is Astrographic and Intel. I can't figure out how to turn any sort of profit - while many planets can make a minor profit on their own, lots of others are heavily in the negative and my treasury tanks within seven turns or so. I'm not sure that being able to issue only one order per month is enough. Maybe one order per system or something, but there's so many things that seem to need doing ASAP and I can't keep up.

So I'm completely lost, which is how I feel trying to play most of Paradox's titles :P
