Half of my monitor seems to have a weird red glow. I'll see if that clears up by tommorow; I should have something small up by then.

My second turn's unnoficial goal was to turn everyone into vampires, and it backfired so bad, I ended up making the fort a more efficient, safer and friendlier place.
Apparently they evolved a taste for everything I love and care about

Well, I can safely say that my screen probably isn't being affected by a virus. The scanner took all day to finish, though. So I'm posting this later than I'd expected.

Oh crap.
"Magma men."

Scramble the militia!
There's supposed to be militia here! You didn't think we'd leave a path to the magma sea unguarded, did you?
You did! Where are the rest of the soldiers?!
They should be in the barracks.
That's just great.
We've also got an axedwarf squad that's never left their post. But I can't get them to come along.

Is there some sort of dwarven Geneva Convention about the ethical treatment of elves prisoners?
Silky was in luck. Cludgelchanted's prison warden liked her for her grace, so he kept her around to look at her from time to time. He even invented a little game to play with her, so he could see her move gracefully.

Otherwise? No, they generally get stripped naked, then killed in creative ways.

That's just cruel, even for Dwarves.
Yes Bay12, I am looking at you with judging eyes.
Because I KNOW where the inspiration for this come from.

Make a mental note to sentence the prison warden to death after you deal with the magma men problem.

You know, because he likes elves (for their grace).

Don't you turn those judgey eyes on me, ultimuh.  Just look at the most recent update in TLCM, elves are all terrible people.

Catten doesn't know anything incriminating about the prison warden, but he attempts to make a mental note nonetheless.

Edit:
Anyway, you probably don't want to stick around for the magma men to come by.

Ah, magmamen. Yet another problem that can be solved by flooding the fort.

Would the water not evaporate around the magmamen?

If we flooded the entire fort, the magmamen wouldn't be able to kill anyone
