You'd rather not cut your throat open with the various bits of metal that you can see in the water.

Block the forge with the corpse to buy some time and attempt to untie the leash, then run as fast as possibly possible.

gaddammit they didn't put the inaccessible tiles of the forge over the channeled out tiles did they?

Dip your leash in the magma to burn it through quickly or use the pick on it to snap it. Either way, RUN LIKE HELL IS CHASING YOU ONCE YOU'RE DONE, BECAUSE IT PROBABLY IS.

>Silky; contemplate how you've reached this point in your life.  Consider that maybe this fort is a bit too dangerous and you'd be better off trying to escape.

The corpse is too heavy for you to lift! However, you do manage to remove the leash easily.

You remember that even if you survive this, you'll still be trapped in this dark hole below a lake, to be treated as an old rag. You start crying.

I told you, we usually have more metal in stock.
But a single bar of lay pewter? Are you sure there isn't another stockpile somewhere?
Hey, that's-

>SCRAMBLE THE MILITIA

Is there some sort of dwarven Geneva Convention about the ethical treatment of elves prisoners?

I think dwarves only behave ethically towards human and dwarven prisioners. Elves can be used as shields, ballista bolts and fuel for the forge.
They have it better than kobolds though...

My second turn's unnoficial goal was to turn everyone into vampires, and it backfired so bad, I ended up making the fort a more efficient, safer and friendlier place.
Apparently they evolved a taste for everything I love and care about
