"Noel, we need your help at the corner. Please clear the path." Jo said as she watched Daethwin sing her song around the stern and brooding mage.

She had a small smile on her face for a moment before turning back to the battle at hand.

That bard was really...inspirational.

Despite his brooding demeanor, Noel smiled back at Daethwin.

"It's true that I do, and I thank you for your song. My name is Noel Schoech, formerly of Denoss."

He bowed slightly, a courtesy he hadn't shown anyone other than the princess up to this point. When Josephine spoke, he looked down at the bard's hand on his arm. After another moment, he removed himself from the grasp, perhaps a bit reluctantly?

"...However, we still have work to do today. Perhaps we can talk more later?"

He hung around for a few more seconds for an answer, then headed out to help Josephine and the other front-liners.

Noel moves to 8,9 and holds position.

One of the two swordsmen decided to attack the dark mage that had wandered into their territory. He was faster than they expected though, and managed to get a spell off first. Sadly, it missed, just barely.

"Noel!" Jo screamed as an arrow--instead of that expected javelin--caught her unawares and struck her in the shoulderblade.

At the height of the angle and the penetration of the wound, she could guess where it had come from, sending a returning strike back.

"Runa, take care of Noel, he needs you more than me." she said as she glanced to the side, nocking another arrow as she swapped her bow-hand.

Just draw, shift your body and not your arm. It doesn't look fatal. Or deep enough to destroy the muscle.

"They're blocking us off. Focus on one and break through. We'll take care of the rest." she said to nobody in particular, seeing the apparent discontinuity of numbers on the side of the enemy. "They aren't organized or they'd all be rushing here."
It was obvious to her that whoever ransacked this place had numbers--yet numbers that didn't matter if they came at the party one by one.

They had Elvira, they had hope.
