Something deep unhinged in Barthus' psyche upon seeing the wyvern rider completely ignore his challenge as he sailed over and attacked the princess. Barthus flew into an uncharacteristic rage at the sight and gripped his club with such intensity his entire frame shook.

: "YOU DASTARD! BLACKHEARTED KNAVE! YOU DIE NOW."

Barthus pulls out Clubbins', pivot steps to L,4 and AIMS FOR THE HEAD OF CAPTAIN HART.

Battle Over

Wincing as she limped over to the rest of the group, Elvira held a hand to her side and asked,

"How are all of you holding up? Jake, you said the prince was here?"

Meanwhile, down by the house, Aeon was busy helping a wounded Kosko to his feet.

"Ah, there we go. You fought well. James, John, go tell the rest of their group that this young man will be ok. And tell Elvira that I'm down here."

Barthus shrugged his shoulders and wiped a thin streak of sweat from his brow. Breath came in slow, heavy beats.

: _{"There... That will teach you... Not to mess with the princess...} Ye brute!"

He spat upon the man's corpse. Men like him deserved nothing but derision. Then upon seeing the wounded princess, the blacksmith immediately went to Elviria's aid without thinking.

: "Here... Take my arm girl. You're bleeding something bad. Let's tend to those wounds and then worry about everything else, aye?"

"Hrnnnghh....owww...ech..."

Daethwin tried to push himself to his feet before staggering back to his knees. Fighting was not fun...

Violet menaced the remaining bandit with her blade, trying to discourage him from fleeing.

: "What...what should we do with this one?"

"Aw piss off, I'm gettin outta here."

The bandit dove into the river and started to swim away. As he did, a pegasus rider swooped in and picked him up.

"Got ya, Barin. We're getting out of here and warning the higher ups."

The two of them flew away before anyone else could react. Elvira cursed and then winced as her ribs protested. Leaning on the arm offered to her, she sighed.

"Ah... I... ah well. It would have been nice to be able to interrogate him, but at least these enemies are dead."

Meanwhile, James and John appeared. They both bowed to Elvira.

"The prince is on his way with one of your men. He's alive, although injured."

"Your man that is. Though the prince isn't exactly in top shape either. Lucky timing on our part though. We'd been stuck in that house for an hour or so, hoping they wouldn't check it."

Josephine kept her bow along the complementary strap on her body and put back the arrow into its respective quiver.

"I could've done so much better." was her only comment proceeding the battle.
She could've stopped that rider's escape.
She could've done much more.

Wherein all the flying problems are fixed by a crossbow, one begins to doubt the utility of their own weapons when uncertain of themselves.

She looked at Elvira. "Are you faring well, Princess?"

: "...oh well." She sheathed her sword and limped towards the healers, hoping for a more complete pick-me-up.

Noel closed his tome quietly and placed it back in the large pouch hanging from the back of his belt once more.

"I suppose it couldn't be helped. I think I'll take a break over here, if anyone needs me for anything."

The shaman took a seat on a nearby log and rested his elbows on his knees, watching and waiting to see what would develop.

"Thank you sir Fancyrobe, I was merely ensuring that enough people would be rejoining with Zarasutra today!" Slightly light-headed from the bleeding, Kosko slowly made his way toward his group.

Sandra saw her princess go down, and Barthus finish the job she should have been there to do.  Concerned, she rushed over as fast as her armor would permit, as Barthus helped Elvira to the group and the healers.
"Milady, are you alright?"

Seeing Princess elvira get knocked off her horse by the enemy leader, Garran quickly ran to her side.
"Princess, are you alright? Sorry I couldn't come to your aid."
