'Voting' someone for confirmed town, while scummy in its advance--isn't a holistic idea to vote-HAMMER on.
Now if we speak of such things without bloody context and MAKE IT INTO A HAMMER then I believe there's something wrong regarding that case AS A WHOLE including its motive.

Imperial Guardsman calmly pulls out a gun in the middle of the meeting and shoots TheWetSheep in the head.  As the guards all pull out their firearms, he calmly walks over to the dead man and pulls a wad of papers out of the man's pocket.  Upon closer inspection, they indicate that he was the one who shot 4maskwolf!
