Figuring that he's unlikely to find anymore mineral wealth, at least today, Alunk looks for someone to purchase the fruits of his labor, preferably at a high price.

"I'll have an ale please."

She nods and writes something down on some paper and leave, coming back a few minutes later with a mug of ale. "Alright, just yell if you need anything sweetie."

Look if the army is recruiting. If so, join.

You head to the local army training ground, and inquire about joining. The recruiter looks you up and down a few time. "You really think you have what it takes to join the army twinkle toes?"

Figuring that he's unlikely to find anymore mineral wealth, at least today, Alunk looks for someone to purchase the fruits of his labor, preferably at a high price.

The foreman mentioned selling to the crown, so you check around about that, and outside the mine price are listed for ores and ingots.

Quarried Stone; 5 coins per pound.
Iron Ore; 10 coins per nugget.
Iron Ingot; 15 gold each.
Steel Ore; 15 coins per nugget.
Steel Ingot; 20 coins each.
Copper Ore; 10 coins per nugget.
Copper Ingot; 12 coins each.
Aluminium Ore; 20 coins per nugget.
Aluminium Ingot; 30 coins each.
Gold Ore; 10 coins per nugget.
Gold Ingot; 15 coins each.

However, at the bottom is a foot note that reads "The Empire is no longer buying gems or any other type of precious stone."

((How many nuggets is one ingot?))
3 nuggets per ingot, and you have just enough gold nuggets to make one ingot.

Alunk stares with much confusion at the sign. He can do some basic arithmetic, and it's telling him that the person who wrote this sign didn't do any math.

((So, wait, why would I turn in ingots if 3 nuggets is 30 coins, and 1 ingot is 15? That seems wrong.))

Ingot are used in crafting armour/weapons/etc, and you may sometimes making something may use less ingot than the character thinks, you may have ingot laying around due to that, and ingot are easier to carry around, as apposed to a whole bag of nuggets.

((So wouldn't they be worth more? There's more demand, which makes the price go up.))

Shrugging, he sells his nuggets for 30 coins, and ferries up as much stone as he can.

Riko stares at the corpse. Dead..? What? How do I even know that? What is wrong with these people?  Are they Betting on Death?! Riko backs away from the window and runs off. Humans can't all be like this can they? I mean that butcher gave me food.

"Ooh~ You're a gladiator! Im so scared!" He said in a mocking tone, faking a tremble in boots. "LISTEN HER MAGGOT!" He suddenly pipes up, poking him in the chest hardly. "If you want to join the military, you have to learn to respect your betters! Just because you think you're hot because you fought some asshat like yourself one on one wearing cheap leather armour doesn't mean you can cut it out there!"

You sell the nuggets and look around some mines some more, however none of it seems to be building quality.

After running for a while, clear out of the market, you end up bashing into someone, a small framed women wearing a yellow robe, and both of you end up on the ground.

Nods.

"I understand that. I also understand that, under all that, the military is, by definition, military. Combat plays a major role, and having skill in combat, of any sort, does make me a better soldier, if not a great one. I thought the kingdom was in desperate need of soldiers?"

Giving up for the day, Alunk looks for another form of work, by searching the city for a cartographer's guild of some sort and inquires as to whether or not they sell geological maps.

Most people just pass on by, some kick stones and sand at you, and one person even threw a stay tomato your way.
Rithos shrugs, grabs the tomato and stuffs it in a pocket, then keeps going.

After a few hours, he decides to go find some place to stay.
