I can barely win a DPS race, and only if he attacks me instead of the wall.

You'll need to go to the spriters resource page for the character your face was taken from, and if you haven't already, snip out the face WITH expressions. Now, you'll then need to modify the faces shown for their skin color via color selection and replacing, via, say, GIMP. From there, you select-copy-paste the mouth of the expressions over your character's current mouth.
Also, that reminds me to give Dimitri expressions today.
Heck, since it looks like Josephine is based off of Eirika, I might be able to make her some too.
