And is it just me, or does RPGscan look like, out of the corner of your eye, some weird multi-eyed glowing monsterscan? Probably just me.

That would work too, for my purposes.

I'm kind of confused on why this has spread so much, honestly.

Because it only takes a couple of minutes to modify a .gif. Tweaking other's avatars is just a fun way to be creative.

The reason this has become popular is because it's like a mobile game. The original was original, but then someone copied it causing a large amount of people to duplicate the duplicate. Then more people copied the duplicate's duplicate. Now we're all over the app store. YOU CANNOT ESCAPE THE FLAPPY DESCAN. (<-- Someone make this.)

Sounds like a good excuse to fire up Game Maker.

Can't believe there's a program for that. I wish you can make it into a DF theme.

Wait SERIOUSLY?  That's what flappy bird is?

I made a game EXACTLY like that as a programming class final project a year ago.   EXACTLY.   The projects rule was that you could only use one button to control the game.  I made flappy bird!*

*Though I called it return to fortressdeath or something like that and it was a little code page dwarf on a badly animated rocket surfboard flying through a cave made of ☼.   ....I wonder if I could sue...

I'm almost certain you weren't the first, either. It's a pretty simple concept for a game.

We should rom-hack a pokemon game to replace the pokemon with the various -scans.  Or, if we don't want to take the easy way, use RPG Maker or an equivalent program to construct a custom game with -scans being main characters.
