Play it on Impossible as a Fayan Mercenary. Grab those combat starting skills. Grab a rocket launcher, because that stuff is extremely useful for distraction purposes. Then grab a better shield system.
The game starts with a bit of text while the game loads.
I won't post a screenshot but it just boiled down to "We're boned so we started recruiting everyone and their dog as rangers, you won't get any support form the military because you're not considered to be part of the military. Good luck."
Then there's some more dialogue with a Feyan recruiter who says more or less the same and asks if we want to go through a tutorial.
I'm not really interested so i go to the hangar.
At the botton middle of the screen we can see 2 important numbers.
Our ship has 30 space left and we currently have 100 credits in our pocket.
The rocket launcher and shields i picked up at the start weight 60 so i can't really cram them into my ship... so i sell the grappler since it's only useful for picking up cargo and i don't have that much space anyway.
Since we dont have much in the way of money i go to the nearest planet hoping for a relatively easy planetary mission.
Note that i'll only post the governors face once since
1 - its on polish so no point in showing unreadable text.
2 - they're all the same.
The mission is yet another training mission i can turn down... this one however has some serious impact on the game and its ending (i doubt i'll get there anyway) but quitting it will mean you'll never get any mission like that any more...
Oh right... i didn't say what kind of mission it is!
It's an RTS minigame similar to Z:Steel Soldiers with custon built robots.
Sadly i didn't take any shots during combat because i was too busy micromanaging the buggers since their AI is... of questionable questionable quality.
Anyway i passed the mission and got a module for gaalian engines that increases their speed... along witn repair costs.
Currently useless to me because i can't afford gaalian engines but i might get on in the future so i'll stick to it and probably stash it away on one of the planets for later.
I did get some cash tho so i can go buy my very own satelite and make them dig me some treasure on uninhabited planets!
This is a research station. Aside of selling satelites they can also upgrade your gear for some money... you can select how much you want to spend (3 options cheap, average and expensive) on upgrades and the game randomly upgrades one of the stats on the selected item. Also know that every item can only be upgraded once.
This is how scanning works... every satelite has a different "scan" value some are better at scanning mountains other water and plains... basic satelites can scan a bit of everything but others can be more specialized.. or simiply better/faster at everything (duh).
Note the text at the bottom. It keeps track of all my items across the galaxy. Currently the only thing i have outside of my ship is the satelite Operon-50 scanning the planet Parakledo in system Atlan.
later i can check that planet again to see what the satelite has found. The prizes range from fuel canisters to stacks of drugs.
And this concludes the story (and explanations) so far.
