Why does I get "Their wagons have bypassed your inaccessible site" message although they can reach (and actually do this) trade depot?

Wagons are 3x3 in tiles. You probably have a wall or doorway that the wagons don't fit through. Use capital D to check depot accessibility.

I thought that only dwarves have 3x3 wagons and I have these messages when elven or human wagons arrived.

I'm not sure if elves have wagons, but humans do.

When you use the capital 'D' command, does it show your depot as accessible or inaccessible?

Inaccessible, but I don't know why.

Here's my entrance:

And the -1 level of the fortress:

Do you use stairs to get down, or ramps? Wagons cannot move down on stairs.

I was about to post that.  Wagons need three-wide ramps to get underground.  They also set off traps on their way in.  Plan accordingly.

But I didn't even had 3x3 wagons, only 1x1 human wagons and they successfully reached trade depot despite of this message. Why?

Caravans usually come with the 3x3 wagons, and some 1x1 animals that carry trade goods. Tha wagons were not able to reach the depot, but the animals were.

As a result, I see only some part of the goods?

Yes, you're missing most of what they've got to offer.

They also set off traps on their way in.  Plan accordingly.
That is to say, wagons cannot cross traps at all and will bypass your site if they don't have an untrapped path to the depot.

That's why I have a nice short path for goblins with a longer detour for wagons:

Thanks a lot for the answers.

But why don't I see their 3x3 wagons standing on the edge of the map?

The wagons leave the instant they see that they can't reach a depot. They never appear at all unless you have a depot that's accessible.
